📍Shilin District, Taipei City (Pingjing Street, Yangmingshan)
Beautiful scenery outside the window|Local farm cuisine/traditional Taiwanese dishes at Pingjing Street, Yangmingshan 🍲🥢

There are many indigenous chicken restaurants on Yangmingshan, and this one was a place I planned to visit but had to come here instead because the original choice was closed.

Most of the customers visiting are elderly folks; after finishing lunch, they sit in the restaurant drinking tea and beer 🍺, feeling very relaxed 😌

The tables for two are arranged by the window, where you can see a small stream outside and lots of mountains and sky, very comfortable!

Order items
🐔 White Cut Chicken Half ($550):
It's very tasty indigenous chicken! When it was served, the meat was still soaked in a bit of chicken fat, making it extremely fragrant when dipped.

You can taste the chewiness of the indigenous chicken, and the fat distribution is just right! It's not too tough to chew.

The accompanying sauces are another highlight! The chili oil and garlic soy sauce both seem to be made with chicken fat, making them a perfect match for the chicken 🫶🏻

🐼 Cold Bamboo Shoot ($260):
A special item for the day, written on the blackboard. It was just taken out from the ice fridge, and it’s sweet enough! It’s a very delicious dish.

🌿 Stir-Fried Water Lily ($160):
A large plate; the water lily has a slightly bitter aftertaste.

💧 Bitter Tea Oil Noodles ($200):
Pretty standard quality.

🍄
Would I revisit? Probably not 😟
The restaurant's hygiene conditions that day might not have been ideal. I found hair in both the white cut chicken and the water lily dishes 😭. There were two or three long hairs entangled with the water lily.
Therefore, even though the food quality and ambiance were quite nice, I probably wouldn’t come back unless there were no other options.
