The summer ice store for steamed buns is located directly across from Fulong Station on the major road along Taiwan Route 2, making it an excellent location. Most businesses in the North Coast area operate along Route 2, as crowds mean revenue.
Today, I enjoyed a combination of pudding milk ice and lemon agar, totaling 115 NT dollars.
Combination pudding milk ice:
You can choose three toppings; I chose grass jelly, aiyu, and agar. The ice itself has a texture similar to fluffy ice, not the more granular shaved ice. Although I didn’t notice the brand of pudding, it had a pretty good texture and looked visually appealing.
The three toppings—grass jelly, aiyu, and agar—performed well, being chewy and delicious, complementing the ice very well.
Lemon agar:
The average standard for agar drinks in the North Coast is refreshing and tasty, not too sweet, with a regular portion size.
Overall, it's a decent tourist ice shop. Since it’s called a summer ice store, it operates on a model of open for half the year and closed for the other half (a bit like ginger duck restaurants), although it does have one public holiday each week.
Make sure to visit Fulong while the store is still open!
Highly recommended to everyone.
