Qicheng Rice Cake, located in Guohua Street, a first-class snack area in Tainan, is definitely on the must-eat list of many tourists. Having lived in Tainan for several years, this was my first time eating it! I have eaten the famous Awen rice cake on Baoan Road before. This time I came to try it at Qicheng~
The rice cake is delicious! The fried parts are really crispy and the inside is smooth and soft. Some netizens say it tastes like carrot cake, but I think the texture is different. It’s more like melted carrot cake. It’s a plus when paired with the soup-like sauce on the side. , definitely one of the must-eat specialty snacks in Tainan; if you order a large portion, the portion is enough for two people to share.
This restaurant has indoor seating, which is really an oasis in Tainan’s extremely hot summer. The restaurant has low consumption but is easily accessible ($80/person on holidays). It is recommended that you order some side dishes:
The salted pork I ordered this time was unexpectedly delicious. It should have been cut and then fried. It was a bit salty but tasted very good☺️
But there was also a side dish of cold cucumbers that we all felt was not good. It was incredibly sweet and we gave in after eating only two or three slices. Is this really a side dish that we can eat alone? ?
Overall highly recommended, only the cucumber side dish was a failure
The protagonist’s rice cakes are super delicious. I will want to eat them again next time I go back to Tainan~~~
