Thai Fengqing Thai Cuisine is located near the Houshanpi MRT Station, about a three-minute walk away. The restaurant is next to Section 5, Zhongxiao East Road, and its large blue sign is quite eye-catching.
#Open During New Year
Normal business hours from New Year's Eve to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.
Today, I took out shrimp paste water spinach, Yunnan spicy chicken, Yunnan bamboo shoots with bitter melon and beef, a nourishing papaya chicken soup, and three bowls of white rice, totaling 650 NT dollars.
Shrimp Paste Water Spinach:
The salty and fragrant shrimp paste pairs perfectly with the crisp water spinach.
The overall seasoning is on the salty side, so it's recommended to enjoy it with white rice.
Yunnan Bamboo Shoots with Bitter Melon and Beef:
The beef is tender, balancing well with the slight bitterness of the bitter melon.
The bamboo shoots are naturally crisp, adding a refreshing layer.
Overall, the dish is deliciously balanced, but the main issue is that there are quite a lot of bamboo shoots, some bitter melon, and not much beef.
The order of the dish's name also seems to indicate the proportion of ingredients used.
Yunnan Spicy Chicken:
The outer layer of the chicken is crispy, while the inside is juicy, and the spicy sauce is fragrant and slightly numbing, with a mild spiciness that should be moderate for most people—a very good pairing with rice.
Nourishing Papaya Chicken Soup:
The broth is sweet and has a fruity aroma from the papaya, and the chicken is very tender.
Overall, it is quite mild, but I personally feel that the flavor is a bit too subtle.
Overall, it is a fairly standard but delicious Thai restaurant.
The flavors are consistent, the prices are reasonable, the environment is clean, and the service attitude is very friendly.
If you dine in, there are also lemon water and desserts to enjoy.
I recommend it to everyone.
