The City Government Seafood Noodle Dumplings was originally a local old store located in an alley on Section 5 of Zhongxiao East Road, near the city government. Due to urban renewal in the area, they relocated to their current site on Songde Road.
Today I took out the lean meat noodles with extra noodles, priced at 110 TWD.
Lean meat noodles:
I forgot to ask if the soup and noodles could be separated, and I was initially worried that the noodles might become soggy. However, when I opened the lid and saw the noodle type, I felt relieved. The texture of the noodles is chewy, and I feel it is similar to thin udon noodles. The broth is rich and smooth, likely made from pork bones.
The portion of lean meat is decent, and the quality is good. What’s a bit special is that the vegetables in the noodles are amaranth. I’m not a big fan of amaranth's slimy texture, but the amaranth here has more tender stems and leaves, making it taste quite good. Adding extra noodles costs ten dollars, and it feels quite filling.
Overall, it's a fairly standard old noodle shop. The flavors are not particularly stunning, but the quality is consistently good and tasty. I actually have a bit of a psychological barrier when it comes to noodle dumplings, but after trying the noodles here, I might be willing to try noodle dumplings again.
I recommend it to everyone.
