This restaurant is truly a salvation for people from Tainan or Tainan students living in Taipei!
Alright, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but being able to eat stir-fried eel noodles with a flavor similar to that in Tainan, in Taipei, is really a blessing. Sharing it with everyone~
"Tainan A-ming Stir-fried Eel Restaurant" is located near Zhongxiao Dunhua Station, about a 6-minute walk from exit 2. It’s not in the busiest part of the East District shopping area but tucked away in a small alley with not many stores. If you’re not specifically looking for this restaurant, you’d probably miss it.
I arrived a little after 6 PM on a Saturday evening. There weren't many customers dining in, but there were quite a few UberEats delivery orders, so there was a bit of a wait after ordering. It took about 20 minutes to get the food.
The staff all had smiles on their faces, which makes dining pleasant.
P.S. This kind of traditional Taiwanese small restaurant even accepts Line Pay, very convenient!
Dry Stir-fried Eel Noodles $210
First, the portion is really large. It's not just a lot of noodles; they give a lot of eel too. Other places might only give you 5-6 pieces of eel, but here you get about 10 pieces!
It's full of wok hei, with the fragrant stir-fry aroma of onions and garlic. The noodles are just sweet and sour enough, definitely delicious eel noodles, comparable to some of my favorite places in Tainan.
Dry Stir-fried Eel $210
The amount of eel in this dish is actually not much different from the eel noodles, and the taste is almost the same, just a slight difference. Personally, I think the eel in this dish tastes a bit more sour.
I think ordering just the dry stir-fried eel noodles is quite filling, so you don't really need to order additional dry stir-fried eel separately. In terms of cost-effectiveness, it’s not very worth it.
Overall, I’d give the taste of the dry stir-fried eel noodles 4.5 stars, but because the price is not cheap, it’s 4 stars.
