The dumpling shop located near Shilin Night Market seems to have just opened last year. There are some potted plants in front of the shop to celebrate the opening.
The design of the store and signboard is mainly red, and the menu graphic design is also quite simple and fashionable. There are quite a few seats in the store. I arrived around 5pm on a holiday and needed to fill out a waiting list, but I got in right away.
After reading other people’s food reviews, we thought the pot stickers seemed good, so we came here because of their reputation. However, the store clerk said they wouldn’t sell pot stickers during the Chinese New Year, so we ordered dumplings and noodles instead.
Cabbage, leek, fresh pork dumplings, 15 pieces $120
The dumplings are quite big, but I think the fillings are just average in seasoning and not surprising. They are just a bit full.
Spicy red oil dumplings (mildly spicy) $75
I chose the smallest spiciness level: slightly spicy, which is just right for me. It’s fragrant but not to the point where I need to drink water. The sauce is pretty good, with both salty, spicy and spicy flavors; but the dumplings are just cabbage, leek, and fresh pork dumplings. , it tastes like the sauce is sauce and the dumplings are dumplings. The two are not well integrated.
Spicy noodles with preserved egg and minced meat (slightly spicy) $75
There were quite a lot of preserved eggs, and there was some dried meat on top, but I felt that the aroma was not brought out, and the sauce was not moist enough and too dry, making it difficult to mix well, making it not very convenient to eat. In addition, this bowl of noodles was actually thick when it was served. It's lukewarm, not hot, which I think is very unpleasant.
Overall, although the price of Wuhan Dumplings is not too expensive, I feel like I spent all my money on the decoration. Maybe because I had high expectations, the quality of the food made me a little disappointed. I shouldn’t be disappointed. Pay a special return visit again
