Congee in Zhongshan District
Recently, it seems that there are quite a few shops of this type in Taipei.
Paired with warm soups and congee,
it’s certainly very suitable for winter.
We ordered three different pots of congee:
Chicken Mushroom Congee
I think it’s quite tasty—the freshness and sweetness of the chicken and mushrooms
have really blended into the congee.
But the chicken doesn’t taste too dry or bland.
Bass Congee
The bass has a few small bones,
and since I’m a bit lazy, I don’t want to eat it if there are bones.
So I only had a little bit of this dish.
However, the soup is sweeter and fresher than the chicken because it has seafood,
and it’s quite delicious.
Clam Congee
My favorite combination.
Because the clams have the sweetness of seafood
and, unlike fish, don’t require dealing with bones,
which is a bit tedious.
As for the side dishes, they have strong flavors,
probably to complement the congee.
But the dishes have flavors that you can easily imagine.
However, the delivery speed is super fast;
it was served shortly after we ordered.
Very impressive! 😎
