The shaved ice at this shop has a delicate texture, sweet but not overwhelming, especially the osmanthus honey wine shaved ice and the volcanic eruption shaved ice, paired with handmade glutinous rice balls, which leaves a deep impression.
The store is located in a residential area, has a smaller space, and has a warm family atmosphere.
The service was somewhat lacking, as they did not provide extra condensed milk and drinking water, and it seemed that the restaurant did not properly inform customers about the arrangements for the photo-taking activities, causing inconvenience during the meal.
A few years ago, I accidentally discovered a great store run by Hong Kong artist Jiang Yawen and her parents after moving to Taiwan. The old store was called "Heartfelt Daily" and was located on the second floor of a spacious old house in Hualien City, which ceased operations after the strong earthquake in Hualien. At that time, the sign was preserved in the new store in Luodong, which is located in a residential area and can be considered a ground floor of a house, making the space a bit smaller.
I happened to pass by and was attracted by the exterior decoration; it's an ice shop with a style that combines Taiwanese retro and Japanese elements!
My friend and I ordered two ice desserts, both of which came with three small glutinous rice balls. The volcano snow ice had lychee ice cream on top with butterfly pea flowers and strawberry sauce. The portion was very large, but it was also very sweet, making it quite cloying after just half (there was grass jelly at the bottom). The rice wine flavor was strong, but my friend felt it was a bit too overpowering. The snow ice had a strong milk flavor and was delicious.
I don't know if it's because they just opened, but there were some aspects I felt were a bit disappointing. For example, they couldn't serve condensed milk separately, they didn't provide water, and on that day, there was a promotional shoot (probably for a food show), but the staff didn't inform other customers inside the shop at all. The cameras were constantly shooting right at us, the host was very loud, and the small shop was overcrowded with the filming crew, making it difficult to move around. I even had to unplug equipment for the filming team just to use the restroom... Overall, it was a very uncomfortable dining experience.
