A few years ago, I accidentally discovered a great store run by Hong Kong artist Jiang Yawen and her parents after moving to Taiwan. The old store was called "Heartfelt Daily" and was located on the second floor of a spacious old house in Hualien City, which ceased operations after the strong earthquake in Hualien. At that time, the sign was preserved in the new store in Luodong, which is located in a residential area and can be considered a ground floor of a house, making the space a bit smaller.

Hong Kong desserts are generally quite good, and after this shop relocated, its deliciousness remains unchanged. I ordered the osmanthus honey wine snowflake ice that I had many years ago. The milk snowflake ice is fine and sweet without being overwhelming, and the homemade wine sauce is generously spread all over, making it perfect for wine sauce enthusiasts. The large bowl comes with five handmade glutinous rice balls (one has already been eaten in the photo), which are shaped like the sugar cakes used during the Qixi Festival. A dent is pressed on each rice ball, symbolizing a "bowl" to hold "the tears of the weaver girl." The dent on this rice ball is indeed drizzled with sweetness, and the texture is sticky and firm, which is quite nice. My family also ordered a volcanic eruption snowflake ice, which has more toppings including grass jelly and lychee ice cream, complemented by butterfly pea flower coloring. However, what I still like the most is that snowflake ice; pairing it with the rice balls is indeed a must-try signature dish from this shop.
