The hand-poured coffee at this cafe is rich in flavor, especially the Colombian Geisha, which has an impressive aroma of lemongrass and jasmine. The coffee quality is exceptionally high, and both the hot and iced versions are delightful. Although the prices are on the higher side, it is definitely worth a try.
The interior space is spacious and comfortable, with simple and elegant decor, making it suitable for leisurely enjoying coffee and creating a relaxing atmosphere. This is a hidden gem of a café tucked away in an alley, and the ambiance is just perfect.
The staff provided a detailed introduction to the coffee, giving people a deeper understanding of coffee knowledge, and the service attitude was friendly. Overall, the service was very satisfactory; it is a 5-star coffee shop that you can't go wrong with.
Highly recommended treasure of a hidden coffee shop! This hand-brewed coffee is truly one of the richest in flavor and highest quality I've ever tasted. I strongly recommend that friends who love hand-brewed coffee come here to experience their exceptional brewing skills.
COFFEE FLAIR, located in a alley on Shuangcheng Street in the Zhongshan District of Taipei City, is very close to the Qingguang Market. It specializes in high-quality hand-brewed coffee. The space inside is quite spacious, with seating for two and four, as well as bar seating available. The decor is simple and elegant, featuring dark tones that create a relaxed atmosphere perfect for savoring coffee over a long stay.
In front of their counter, there are various bags of coffee beans that visitors can smell and sample, ranging from light to dark roasts, including Ethiopian and Geisha beans processed in different ways, all with appealing flavors.
I chose the most expensive option, Colombia Espiritu Blanc Geisha, which the staff recommended as a hot drink. Even though it was quite warm outside, I followed their suggestion and opted for a hot beverage.
Colombia Espiritu Blanc Geisha $520
✨ Light Roasted
✨ Anaerobic Honey Processed
✨ Flavor: Lemongrass, Elderflower, Jasmine Green Tea
While waiting for my coffee, I browsed the bags of coffee beans for sale and admired the shop's decorations, occasionally hearing the sound of coffee brewing, making the wait quite enjoyable.
After a short wait, my coffee was served. Interestingly, in addition to the brewed pot of coffee, it came with a tall, slim glass as well as a wider, flatter ceramic cup.
📌 Tasting from the narrow glass enhances the concentration of the coffee aroma.
📌 Tasting from the wide, flat cup enhances the sweetness and richness of the coffee.
The barista introduced the coffee this way. Although I knew that the type of cup could affect the coffee’s taste, their detailed explanation certainly enhanced my coffee knowledge!
The Geisha was incredibly fragrant, and the hot brew had no bitterness at all. The jasmine tea flavor was rich yet elegant, like silk gliding over my tongue, and the sweet and tangy notes of elderflower greatly complemented the coffee.
We happened to have extra ice, so after finishing the hot drink, we tried it over ice. It was much lighter and refreshing, with both hot and iced versions having their own charm.
Overall, I preferred the experience of drinking from the wide cup, but regardless of the cup, it was fantastic! The $520 Geisha is indeed worth every penny.
(I didn’t even realize the price until the end... If I had seen it at the beginning, I might not have had the chance to enjoy such delicious Colombian Geisha!)
Overall, it was a very comfortable and satisfying coffee tasting experience, and I will definitely want to try more hand-brewed coffee in the future. This hand-brewed coffee shop truly excels in ambiance, coffee beans, brewing techniques, and service—a 5-star café that is definitely worth a visit! 🌟
During lunch, I came around this area and found a nearby café. The prices were quite surprising, but the taste was very satisfying! If you love hand-brewed coffee, you definitely shouldn't miss this place!
The interior is very comfortable, with plenty of spacious seating. The hand-brewed coffee starts at $240 and goes up to $600, which is the highest price I've ever paid for coffee. Their hot handbrew offers two different types of cups—ceramic and glass—and the flavors truly differ depending on the cup.
The Colombian coffee I ordered had a rich oolong tea flavor, which was nice. However, I preferred the Ethiopian honey process coffee and the Colombian Geisha that my tablemate ordered - $520, which performed exceptionally well!
Aside from the steep prices making it hard to visit frequently, there's nothing wrong with this place!
