A roadside garage eatery centered around "goose meat" 🦢🥄
Since the first time I ate at this eatery almost a year ago, I've become a regular 🤤
The environment is clean, the service is friendly and enthusiastic, and the food is fresh and impressive.
🥣
Menu items:
🍗 Goose leg in brine ($310 for two people; market price):
This dish can be ordered either in brine or smoked and is extremely popular—often out of stock if you arrive late.
I remember when I first ordered, I had asked for the goose breast, but the enthusiastic staff recommended the goose leg as being even tastier 🤣 Since then, I've only ordered the leg.
When taking orders, the staff will ask how many people are eating; the prices for goose legs for two typically range between $250-$350.
The portion of the goose leg is quite ample, and the meat is cut into decent-sized pieces (some specialty goose meat shops in Taipei cut it very thin, affecting the texture). I love the rich, fatty skin of the goose; the meat is also very juicy, and the saltiness from the brine is just right, making dipping sauce unnecessary—it’s truly delicious 🫶🏻
🥢 Dry noodles ($45 for small):
The noodles are not overcooked and still have a bit of firmness in the center.
The key is that they use goose oil to toss the noodles—super fragrant! Very appetizing.
💧 Goose oil mixed rice ($30 for small):
Goose oil with white rice is just a perfect match! Be careful, as the saltiness at the bottom may be a bit high and needs to be mixed well.
🍄
Would I revisit: Yes!
I really recommend it 🥰 It’s my top choice when I want to eat at a snack shop lately—probably craving it about once a month.

Notes:
🔸 Cash only 💰
🔸 It’s best to arrive right when they open, or else it's really easy to find the goose meat sold out 💔
📍Tianmu, Taipei
Close to Zhishan Station, it's about a 15-minute walk. You can ride a YouBike to nearby parks and then walk over. This place is a very famous old restaurant in Tianmu specializing in goose meat. It’s located in a space similar to a home garage, so be aware that there is no air conditioning, but they provide large electric fans. You will need to take a menu and find your own seat.
Meals 🥘
Goose Oil Mixed Rice / Small Bowl / NT$30:
The goose oil mixed into the rice is super fragrant. Although the rice is a bit on the soft side, which is a slight disappointment, the combination of the oil, scallions, and rice melds perfectly. After finishing, all I wanted to say was, "Boss, give me another bowl!"
Dry Noodles / Small Bowl / NT$45:
The dry noodles also come mixed with the restaurant's homemade goose oil. You can choose the type of noodles; I selected flat noodles, and they paired wonderfully with the goose oil, creating an incredibly fragrant dish. Additionally, chives and bean sprouts were added for extra texture.
Goose Leg / Salt Water / Two Servings / NT$310 (Market Price):
You can choose between smoked or salted goose meat. While the restaurant's specialty is smoked goose, I think the salted goose is also very delicious. It highlights the natural flavor of the goose meat much more than the smoked version, with a sweet and tender texture. You can enjoy the fragrance from chewing the goose skin and fat, which is very satisfying. It pairs well with the side of julienned ginger. The goose leg is deboned, but there are still some bones to watch out for.
