The "Youai Herbal Tea" Jinhua store is located on Section 3 of Jinhua Road. The herbal tea is refreshing and soothing, making it both healthful and thirst-quenching, loved by people of all ages, including many elders who enjoy hand-shaken drinks.

Youai Herbal Tea has two locations, one being the main store on Youai Street and the other being the Jinhua store I am currently visiting. The Youai Herbal Tea has its roots in the Japanese colonial era when it became popular among the people of Tainan to drink "Taiwanese-style" cooling beverages, mainly sold by vendors on the streets. In the hot southern weather, many people were either farmers or laborers, and having a bowl of herbal tea in the afternoon was truly a daily delight. Boss Huang humorously mentions that his father's profession was selling clothes from a street stall, and he would occasionally pull out his cart to sell the family’s traditional herbal tea during certain busy hours, not expecting the business to thrive and become the main job.

Every morning, he must go to a familiar lumber yard to buy leftover wood materials, insisting on following the ancient method to brew the herbal tea using a "big stove." He had once tried using gas to boil the tea, but the taste was simply different. The ingredients of herbal tea are not just one type; there are more than ten varieties, mainly classified into "dry" and "wet" herbs (dry refers to seasonally dried herbs, while wet refers to the seasonal grasses grown at home). The combination of various herbs boiled together with a family secret recipe and special sand seasoning makes the drink refreshing and healthful, quenching thirst effectively.
