The dishes are visually appealing, and the lava cheese kimchi noodles have a strong visual impact, but the noodles are a bit dry and the French bread is too hard. The beef bone marrow clam pasta is light, and the beef bone marrow is the highlight. The American-style fries are average.
The store has a bright and spacious interior, perfect for taking photos, chatting over meals, or a little office break.
The staff is kind and friendly, providing quick service to make the dining experience more enjoyable.
Drip Cafe in Nangang is located in the themed restaurant area on the first basement level of Nangang Station. It may require a quick look at the map after exiting the MRT or TRA, but it's not hard to find.
This time, I enjoyed the lava cheese kimchi pasta, beef bone marrow clam pasta, and American-style fries, with an upgraded set meal plus service fee totaling 1078 TWD.
Lava Cheese Kimchi Pasta:
The visual impact is off the charts, as they simply cut a whole bread in half and stuff it with kimchi pasta, then generously top it with a layer of cheese lava. Using the accompanying sharp knife to cut it felt like opening a treasure chest. However, apart from the impressive appearance, the tasting experience was rather awkward.
To fit the pasta into the bread, almost all the moisture was lost, resulting in a dry texture. Fortunately, the kimchi and the lava parts performed well, with a strong aroma that at least whetted the appetite.
However, apart from that, the French bread used as a container was extremely dry and hard, making it a bit torturous on the teeth, and it made one less inclined to finish the dish, which is hard for food lovers like us to imagine.
Beef Bone Marrow Clam Pasta:
The highlight of this dish is the generous chunk of beef bone marrow, which has been simmered thoroughly, allowing it to be scooped out and mixed with the noodles, while the clams were fresh and plentiful.
However, beyond that, the flavor was extremely mild. While one could detect the delicate aroma of white wine chicken soup, it still felt like there was hardly any flavor at all, with the only taste highlight being the bone marrow itself. The restaurant doesn't have TABASCO, so there was no way to add some spice.
The upgraded set meal's pumpkin soup was quite good, with a smooth texture and a standard creamy flavor; the drinks were just regular milk tea and oolong tea, also standard fare.
American-style Fried Potatoes:
These were standard fried potato strips, but after tasting the subtly flavored pasta, this small dish was surprisingly delightful.
Overall, it's a chain café with a distinctive style and eye-catching presentation.
The dining space is bright, with spacious seating and enough distance between tables to avoid crowding.
Whether it's for taking photos, socializing, or a small office break, it serves as a decent stopover.
But if you prioritize taste, there are many other themed restaurants nearby...
The first time I tasted it, the service attitude of the store staff was also very good, the food items were unique, and the actual dishes were amazing. I think it is a good place to introduce friends to, and it will be a new choice for dining and chatting with friends in the future.
What I like most is that the ingredients are very practical, the taste is great, and the price is not expensive! The only drawback is that the black tea is a bit astringent, but many people like it for desserts, so I think it is a tea suitable for pairing with desserts.
This time I ordered Jinsha Medium Roll Noodles and Creamy Shrimp Soup with Sea and Turf Rice, each with a set menu of +$100. Choose a salad and a bowl of tomato and vegetable soup, and the drinks are lightly sugared and lightly iced oolong tea and black tea.
The tomato and vegetable soup is not just sugar water because it is a small bowl. It contains a lot of vegetables and also has the sour taste of stewed tomatoes. It is very appetizing.
The stir-fried golden sand is very fragrant, and the ingredients are not wasted. The salted egg white is also on top. It is paired with fresh green beans and very fragrant dried chili. The medium roll is just right, not too soft and a little chewy. The whole bowl The noodles were very smooth and I finished eating it!
The rice center of the stewed rice has a slightly hard texture, the shrimp soup makes the rice rich, and the sea and land ingredients are very solid! There are large shrimps (even the tails are removed), clams, medium rolls, bacon, pork slices, with small tomatoes and asparagus. You can taste the ingredients, thick shrimp soup and stewed rice in every bite. In the end, the whole plate is dry. Clean!
