I was very lucky to have dinner at "Moo House" without having to wait much! There was only one group in front of us 😝 I saw reviews mentioning that some people had to wait nearly an hour 😂 Remember to fill out the queue waiting list!
The menu items aren’t too many, and there’s a price difference between dining in and takeout! For friends who don’t want to wait or live nearby, I suggest getting takeout—it’s cheaper 😜
Cheese Hamburger Patty (Beef) 🐮
It looks like a pretty good portion! The main star, the pork chop, isn’t the juicy type, but the beef flavor is rich and very smooth. Paired with the cheese, even though it’s quite indulgent, it’s really delicious 🤤. The curry is also thick—slightly sweet. It pairs very well with rice 🍛. Currently, they give a free onsen egg with your meal. Adding the egg yolk in is just divine 🤤. The side dishes are well-seasoned and taste great 👍🏻.
Japanese-style Crispy Pork Cutlet 🐷
(I didn’t take a picture)
The pork cutlet is thick! It feels very meaty while eating, but personally, I prefer the hamburger patty 😝. However, my friend likes the pork cutlet more.
Cheese Croquette 🧀
This one mainly contains cheese and mashed potatoes 🥔. It’s crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside—very delicate 😋.
Overall, I think it’s pretty good, and the prices are reasonable. But if I have to wait, I might reconsider 😝.
Hello everyone, I am a little frog 🐸
🚇 MRT Minquan West Road Station
Next to Qingguang Market, there is a Japanese restaurant that sells curry rice and donburi. The wooden facade, combined with Japanese curtains and decorative items, creates a great Japanese atmosphere. However, there are only four seats for dining in, and you have to wait during meal times.
Actually, this is my second visit!
On my first visit, I came with a friend and found the food delicious. This time, I returned to the restaurant with another friend nearby.
I noticed the menu format has changed this time!
Unlike the previous [a la carte + custom set menu] model, now there are only paired sets available!
The set menu is five options with two choices:
▪️ Drinks: choose 1 from 3 options — small bottle of Coke / original green tea / Moo Moo milk tea (+$15)
▪️ Eggs: choose 1 from 2 options — sunny-side up / onsen egg
▪️ Seaweed miso soup
▪️ Today's side dish
▪️ Honey Nagasaki cake
🍳 Currently, there is a Google review promotion offering an onsen egg.
⭐️ Cheese hamburger steak $250
Original green tea + seaweed miso soup
The hamburger steak is very juicy, filled with the aroma and juices of beef, and paired with grilled cheese, which adds a nice touch. The Japanese curry is mild yet rich, with a sweet flavor and a hint of spiciness. Overall, the proportions are just right.
The miso soup also has a lot of ingredients, and the broth is rich with bonito flavor. It's really delicious!
⭐️ Western-style tender fried pork cutlet $245
Today's side dish + seaweed miso soup
This was ordered by my friend, and since she had a cold, I only had a couple of bites.
The side dish was black fungus. My friend said the batter on the pork cutlet was very crispy, and the inside was thick, juicy pork. She thought it was tasty! 👍
‼️ Conclusion:
I really love this hamburger steak, and I will visit again. 😋
However, you have to wait a long time for a seat, so if you want to eat here, make sure to come early!
Located in #Qingguang Market, there’s an ultra-mini curry rice specialty store. Why do I call it ultra-mini? Because there are only 4 seats inside: 2 bar stools facing outside and 2 bar stools facing the counter, essentially sitting back-to-back with the diners behind you and shoulder-to-shoulder with those beside you 😂 (it's very crowded).
Although the store is really small, it has everything you need, and the atmosphere is very cozy. It’s the first time I've seen a shop less than 2 ping (about 66.1 square feet) with such decor and comfort. I give a thumbs up for the ambiance!
However, it might really be more suitable for dining alone or for takeout, I think.
Outside the store, there’s a waiting list for seating; those who want to enjoy the warm atmosphere can queue for a spot inside.
Basically, the table turnover is very quick, with two staff members handling the cooking and cashiering in the kitchen. The serving speed is fast, and it’s unlikely to linger long after eating, so waiting a bit is okay. During my visit, I also saw different customers coming in to pick up takeout meals, so it felt like business was good.
I waited just a little while before being seated and ordered the “Japanese Style Tender Fried Pork Cutlet Curry.”
The set meal allows for 5 choices of sides from which I thought they were all included, so I later chose a soft-boiled egg and moo-moo milk tea.
🍛 Japanese Style Tender Fried Pork Cutlet Curry
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
The curry sauce has a bit of the sweetness typical of Japanese curry and is quite thick, not watery at all. I quite like it.
The portion of the fried pork cutlet is just right, with thick slices of meat, and the crispy outer coating is well preserved, giving it a rich and substantial texture.
🧋 Moo-Moo Milk Tea
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
I really love their homemade canned milk tea, which has a refreshing tea fragrance and isn’t too sweet. I think it’s fantastic, a little gem recommendation for everyone!
🌞 Soft-Boiled Egg
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Their soft-boiled egg has liquid egg whites encasing a semi-cooked yolk that oozes goodness, all soaking in a small bowl of special soy sauce. It’s extremely satisfying to eat in one go! It’s not too salty or too runny, with a very smooth texture.
To finish this alone, you only need to sit for about 20 minutes. Since there were people waiting outside the store, after finishing, I cleared my plate and gave up my seat.
Overall, it’s a very cozy little curry shop, and if I pass by occasionally, I would want to go in again to try their rice bowls and hamburger steaks. They all look so tempting!
I happened to see that there was no line, so I decided to try it out!
There are very, very few seats, only four 😂. This might be the restaurant with the fewest seats I've ever been to! So I still waited about 10 minutes, and quite a few people came for takeout in the meantime!
This time I ordered the curry hamburger steak with curry and the beef grill rice bowl. The hamburger steak is juicy and aromatic; it’s a delicious hamburger steak! It pairs well with cheese, but their curry has a fruity and vegetable aroma, and the sweetness and sourness of the vegetables are quite prominent. If you like fruity and vegetable flavors, you should enjoy it~ (but it was just okay for me 😂).
Additionally, the grilled meat rice bowl was surprisingly good. The slices of meat are thick, and combined with the roasted aroma and sauce, it really feels like you’re eating Japanese grilled meat. It doesn't have a Taiwanese taste, and I prefer this over the hamburger steak!
Also, their milk tea is quite good. If you order the set, I recommend paying extra to swap for milk tea. It’s not too sweet, and it's not that old-fashioned style of milk tea; it’s very smooth!
I originally wanted to eat at Bibendum Huangji, but it turned out to be a bust. I looked around nearby and discovered this place, so we came to eat. I really recommend it!!
There are only four seats! Luckily, we didn't have to wait too long during the weekday; the four of us sat in two turns, with about a 10-minute gap between us.
I ordered the grilled cheese beef curry, and I absolutely loved it. The beef was so flavorful, the grilled cheese was super fragrant, and the curry had a great blend of vegetable flavors. The overall combination was perfect, and with a Coke and a sunny-side-up egg, I just couldn't stop eating. It was just a sugar rush overload 🤣
The decorations in the restaurant are really cute, full of a Japanese vibe, and you can feel the owner's attentiveness. During our meal, there were quite a few takeout customers, so if you happen to pass by, you should give it a try!
