The quality of the food is excellent, particularly recommended are the spicy cod roe stir-fried squid and udon noodles, which are rich in flavor and generously portioned. Skewers like the salmon and roe skewer and Matsusaka pork are also quite distinctive, but the overall price is on the high side.
The dining space in the restaurant is spacious, with a Japanese-style decor, making it suitable for gatherings and dates.
The staff arranges seating and recommends making a reservation first. Overall, the service is attentive.
Taipei Zhongshan District - An outstanding spot for Japanese skewers. Highly recommend the cod roe stir-fried squid and udon noodles, a perfect place for after-work gatherings with friends and family for skewers and drinks.
There were four of us in total, and we ordered many dishes, so I'll only write about the more memorable ones:
📍 Salmon Parent-Child Skewer 140 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
This dish is quite special, featuring deep-fried salmon with a heap of salmon roe on top.
📍 Grilled Salmon Rice Ball 65 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌖🌑
Comes in two pieces, great value for money, a good choice to fill up your stomach.
📍 Wasabi Salmon Skewer 90 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
A bit ordinary, with a strong wasabi sauce flavor.
📍 Matsusaka Pork 90 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌖🌑
Comes with kumquat on the side that you can squeeze. The Matsusaka pork is grilled juicy, but the portion is a bit small, haha.
📍 Cod Roe Stir-Fried Squid 180 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
Five-star recommendation, this dish is really delicious! The seasoning with cod roe and green onion salt is well done, and the portion is ample!
📍 Sake Clam Soup 150 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌖🌑
Fresh and large clams are used, but the sake aroma is quite subtle, and the flavor is on the lighter side.
📍 Cod Roe Udon 290 TWD
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
Five-star recommendation, with rich cod roe sauce and plenty of fish roe on top. Mixing them all together is very satisfying!
▶️ Environment
🔹 The dine-in space is quite large, with two floors
🔹 Decorated in a very Japanese style
🔹 No drinking water provided
🔹 Storage bags are provided
▶️ Friendly Reminder
🔹 It is recommended to call for a reservation in advance
🔹 There are first-floor and second-floor areas, and the staff will arrange seating for you
▶️ Overall Evaluation
🔹 The quality of the food is very good, the skewers are delicious, but the overall prices are slightly high. Sharing a few dishes with friends typically costs each person over 500 TWD! The dining environment is comfortable without feeling crowded or having an overwhelming barbecue smell, making it a great spot for gatherings and dates!
Conclusion first: the food was great, but the price was on the high side.
I decided to give it a try after reading good reviews on the Internet. When I arrived, I was assigned to a seating area on the second floor. The window seat has no chair back and is less comfortable to sit on, so I will deduct points.
Drinks were served after ordering the meal. The apple juice I ordered had a smooth taste and a sweet apple flavor, but the price of 100 yuan per cup was a bit expensive.
Stir-fried wild vegetables and sprinkled with bonito flakes are fragrant, and the cabbage is sweet and crunchy.
The salt-grilled beef strips are juicy and tender, with a rich beef aroma. A must-try.
Mentaiko Udon Noodles: The white sauce is rich, and the flavor of Mentaiko is strong. The udon noodles are chewy and delicious, and a small amount of seafood is also delicious. It is a must-try staple food if you want to be full.
Matsusaka pig is relatively ordinary and nothing special.
Boneless chicken wings don’t need to be chewed for a long time! Just take a big bite, the tender meat and crispy skin have an excellent taste, a must-try.
The tender chicken thigh tastes very tender and delicious, but after eating the boneless chicken thigh, it doesn’t feel so amazing.
The scallops are indeed fresh scallops, but the umami taste is not that obvious. The price of 260 yuan for one is a bit expensive.
Overall, the meal performance is very good, and the environment is suitable for gatherings, but the price is on the high side, so I wouldn't consider it when I want to eat skewers.
