🚩 A popular casual dining restaurant near Qizhang MRT Station, operating for many years

Biluochun has been in business for over ten years near Qizhang Station in Xindian. Previously located on Zhongzheng Road, the business remains robust after moving to its current location. The layout of the restaurant has not changed in over a decade; the first floor is the main area for cooking and payment, with only a few dozen seats. There is a small fish pond in the middle of the restaurant, and a steel suspended staircase leads to the seating area on the second floor. The overall décor is ordinary.

You can order at the first-floor counter by standing in line, paying with cash or Street Payment. Invoices are available, but there is no service charge.

Today I queued for takeout, but you can also call ahead to order and reduce waiting time. The price for takeout bento is 30 NT dollars cheaper than dining in, which is quite a difference, while the small hot pot and pasta are priced the same.

On a typhoon day, I went out searching for a restaurant, and Biluochun was open with many customers. When I got home and opened my takeout, I found that the mackerel was overcooked and quite burnt, but since I had already brought it back home, I didn’t feel like returning it. After removing the skin, it was still edible, and the tender meat paired well with rice. My other main dish was beef brisket: the meat was stewed to softness, packed with lots of red and white radishes, and the sauce wasn’t overly salty, making it great on rice. The bento box’s portion of white rice was quite generous, but compared to it, the amount of vegetables was relatively less, and there were no leafy greens, possibly due to the typhoon. Additionally, you can choose a drink or soup; I chose enoki mushroom soup, which is rarely offered nowadays. It had a mild flavor and was quite good.
