The salmon donburi and sushi at Chao Xin Sushi are very fresh and delicious. The rainbow roll and assorted seafood donburi have a variety of sashimi, and the lobster salad dressing is a pleasant surprise.
The interior space of the restaurant is comfortable, with well-arranged seating that includes both table and bar seating, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The staff is friendly and efficient, able to accept phone reservations, and the waiting time is relatively reasonable, making it convenient.
▶ Rainbow Roll $340 ◀
I highly recommend this item; it’s very similar to a California roll, but topped with three different types of sashimi. Plus, the lobster salad sauce actually contains real lobster meat! It's incredibly satisfying~
▶ Assorted Seafood Donburi $350 ◀
The sashimi here is super fresh, and the assorted selection really includes a lot of different types! It has my favorite scallops and shrimp, as well as many different kinds of fish, and there’s even crab roe!! Plus, when you order the donburi, it comes with a bowl of miso soup that contains fish~ However, their miso soup is on the lighter side.
Hello everyone, I’m the little frog 🐸
Near the Taipei Power Building Station of the MRT, there’s a place called Chao Hsin Sushi. I often saw a lot of people waiting for seats when I passed by, so I decided to find a night to dine there.
Chao Hsin Sushi, Chao Ri Sushi, and Ri Hsin Sushi are all part of the same chain, but they have different names for their branches.
At Chao Hsin Sushi, you can make reservations over the phone, but I decided to go on a whim, so I registered upon arrival during dinner time and had to wait about half an hour for a seat.
The restaurant has both table seating and counter seating, with quite a number of seats available. The spacing between tables is decent, making for a comfortable dining experience.
⭐️ Salmon Ikura Don (includes miso soup) $380
This was ordered by a friend. I had a couple of bites—it included raw salmon, semi-raw salmon, salmon roe, egg slices, red onion, and ginger slices. The sushi rice was distinct and not too sour, and the whole bowl was quite fulfilling, with the salmon being fresh and tender. The don came with miso soup, which was tasty and not overly salty; it also contained fish pieces. Even though it was a complimentary soup, it was not overlooked!
⭐️ Salmon Nigiri (2 pieces) $90
The salmon was just as fresh and delicious. The slices of sashimi on the nigiri were quite large, making it very satisfying!
⭐️ Seared Salmon Nigiri (2 pieces) $90
I originally wanted to order the seared salmon belly, but it was sold out, so I opted for the regular seared salmon. The seared salmon, brushed with sauce and paired with red onion, added a crunchy and sweet flavor, which was also delicious.
⭐️ Tuna Nigiri (2 pieces) $100
I’m not sure which part of the tuna this is, but it had low fat content, a soft texture, and paired with wasabi and soy sauce, it tasted great!
⭐️ Seared Eel Nigiri (2 pieces) $130
I love eel rice, and when I saw the eel nigiri, I wanted to try it. The eel was prepared and boneless, with a nice sauce flavor, and it was paired with seaweed, which was also tasty!
⭐️ Shrimp Asparagus Hand Roll $60
The hand roll had about two shrimp, combined with asparagus and lettuce, making it very refreshing to eat!
⭐️ Chawanmushi (Savory Egg Custard) $30
The chawanmushi was smooth and tender, with a flavor of bonito and a small piece of crab meat and fish at the bottom; it was quite good! 👍
⭐️ Chicken Wings with Mentaiko $130
The chicken wings were stuffed with plenty of mentaiko, and after being grilled, they were very fragrant and delicious!
‼️ Conclusion:
It’s a delicious and fresh sushi restaurant, no wonder it’s so popular, but for me, some of the prices seemed a bit high. Overall, I spent over 500 NTD per person and still didn’t feel very full. 🤔🤔 It doesn't seem like it has the super high CP value that some people say…
