The restaurant is the second row of Japanese architecture at the General's Residence. This is my first time dining here since the curry at home moved to the General's Residence, and the whole dining experience was wonderful; I loved the service, the dishes, and the overall environment. The shrimp crackers served before the meal were delicious and crispy, and dipping them in the curry sauce was very flavorful.

For the main dish, I ordered the Bengali crispy fish curry, which came with two dipping sauces— the bright orange sauce was very tasty! There was a bit of spice to it that complemented the meal well. The main dish, the white fish, was stunning, with an incredibly crispy outer layer, and the beef curry had a rich flavor as well. The side dishes were pickled, refreshing, and helped to balance the richness; they can be enjoyed with rice and curry sauce.

There were two fish bone cakes per person, with a soft, sticky, sweet interior and a crispy exterior; I wish they were a bit larger.

Although there is a parking lot nearby, there aren’t many spaces available, so parking can be difficult. You might consider parking at Hualien Hospital, which is just across the bridge over the Meilun River.
