🍜 Braised Beef Noodle Soup in the Alley
Located in a small noodle shop in the alley next to the big department store
Truly a place “in the alley”

The interior features an American-style decor,
distinct from typical Taiwanese restaurants.
Upon entering, customers choose their seats,
place their orders, and then pay at the counter.
Utensils, side dishes, and sauces are self-service.
It is noted that the pickled mustard greens are quite spicy, so please eat with caution‼️
I avoid spicy food, so I decided not to try it this time.

You can tell there are quite a few customers in the shop,
mostly students,
and many come for takeout,
so there was a bit of a wait for the food.
However, the staff's friendly attitude makes for a comfortable experience.

✨ Braised Beef Noodle Soup (Knife-cut Noodles)
I initially thought the noodles would be chewier,
but they turned out to be rather ordinary.
They weren’t particularly thick,
and there were four to five pieces of meat along with some bok choy.
The small bowl portion looks ample.
The broth has a rich flavor,
with just a hint of spiciness (that throat-burning type).
The meat is quite tender,
even the sinewy parts are easy to chew,
and it doesn’t get stuck in your teeth, which is a big plus.
Overall, the broth isn't my favorite,
but the price of $120 gives it good value for money. 👍🏻

✨ Blanched Vegetables (Water Spinach)
I particularly want to commend this plate of blanched vegetables.
At only $40, it’s a generous portion and seasoned just right with a bit of meat sauce.
I appreciate that it wasn’t overpowered by garlic flavor.
The water spinach is tender and not tough,
and paired with the meat sauce, the flavor is just perfect.

The meat sauce looks very enticing,
and I would like to try it with rice next time.

Overall, the value for money is quite high.
I recommend everyone to give it a try. 👍🏻
