I visited a shop in Kyoto where you can enjoy matcha sweets🍵

It's called Gion Chaya Tabane no Shi, located in the Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, and it's within walking distance from Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and Gion Shijo Station or Sannijo Station on the Keihan Electric Railway🚃

The shop is located very close to a square in the shopping street, making it easy to spot🍵

They offer a wide variety of crepes, all looking delicious, and I chose a seasonal item🌸
From Gion's Japanese-style crepes:
Kakegawa Kabucha and Sakura🍵🌸
For the drink, I opted for:
Kakegawa Matcha Sakura Latte🍵🌸

I placed my order on the first floor, and the second floor serves as the eat-in area. It's surprisingly spacious with many seats, which is a great point for relaxing✨

The Kakegawa Kabucha and Sakura🍵🌸
on top of the crepe featured a generous amount of matcha🍵
with shiratama (sweet rice dumplings)
and a cherry blossom pattern🌸,
which looked absolutely beautiful🍵🌸
The crepe itself was a lovely green matcha color🍵
The cream underneath the matcha was pink and also beautiful🌸
The matcha had a rich bitterness that paired wonderfully with the cream's sweetness, making it delicious🍵
Inside, there was plenty of:
fresh cream,
matcha ice cream🍨,
strawberries🍓,
and crunchy sweets,
all packed in beautifully✨
The outer layer had a slight bitterness of matcha, was chewy, and was delicious🍵
The sweet cream, a slight saltiness from the sweets, and the crepe's bitterness matched perfectly, resulting in an incredibly tasty treat.
I could also feel the flavor of sakura mochi🌸
Since the cream was filled generously to the bottom, it was very satisfying and I was extremely happy with it‼️

The Kakegawa Matcha Sakura Latte🍵🌸
had matcha and sakura powder sprinkled on the whipped cream, making it beautiful🍵🌸
Inside the milk, there was matcha and cherry blossom liqueur, creating a lovely sakura flavor that tasted amazing🌸
Drinking it straight was quite sweet, but mixing it brought out the matcha flavor and bitterness, offering a different, delightful taste🍵

This is a highly recommended shop for those who want to enjoy sweets that truly highlight matcha🍵

There were many other delicious-looking menu items, so it has become a place I want to visit again when I go back to Kyoto🍵
