The meal consisted of a course centered around eel and Kyoto duck, featuring delicious items such as chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), eel tempura, and Kyoto duck steak, where the freshness and depth of flavor of the ingredients were truly appreciated.
Dining in the riverside seats of the Kamo River was enjoyable along with the atmosphere of the river, and the transition from bright to dark was also nice.
The service charge is added when using the floor seating, and the serving time is also specified, but overall it was courteous and satisfying.
I went to a restaurant by the Kamo River in Kyoto that I had been curious about for a long time.👘
It's called "Aji Roman Ishigamatei," and it's located just a short walk from the Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.🚃
You can use both the indoors and the floor seating, but of course, we chose the floor seating!✨
If it rains, the second floor seats are available.☂️
There were ducks swimming in the river beneath the floor.🦆
We enjoyed the "Hamo and Kyoto Duck Full Course."🦆

The grilled hamo was fragrant and paired perfectly with the refreshing jelly.🐟
The mizuna and tomato were cold and tasty.🍅
Kyoto Duck Steak🦆
It was cut into easy-to-eat pieces.✨
Served with ponzu, rock salt, and wasabi as condiments.✨
The duck was filling and rich and tasted amazing.🦆
The ponzu was refreshing,
the rock salt was flavorful,
and the wasabi added a nice kick.🔥
Personally, I enjoyed the combination of wasabi and rock salt the best.🔥🧂
Also served were sweet potato tempura🍠 and stir-fried shimeji mushrooms🍄🟫, which were delicious.✨
Rice Dish🍚
Noodle stew
A large plate had the noodle stew with separate servings of duck meat🦆, shredded egg🥚, and green onions.
At first, I ate just the noodle stew, which was tasty, and the noodles were smooth going down.✨
Even after adding the ingredients, the duck meat was delicious and added more depth, making it even tastier.🦆
Dessert
Duck egg pudding🍮
Watermelon🍉
Tea🍵
It was the first watermelon of the year for me!🍉
It was sweet and delicious.🍉
I have had duck egg pudding at a sister restaurant before; it's super delicious and my favorite pudding to the level where I could take it out.🍮
This time it was also rich, with sweet caramel making it incredibly tasty.🍮
The final tea was comforting and delicious.🍵
The transition from bright to dark as the evening approached created a fantastic atmosphere.🌃
Although it drizzled a little during our meal, my first experience on the floor seating was very satisfying.✨
I had the impression that floor seating would be hard to access, but this place felt more accessible, so if you're interested, I highly recommend you try it!😊
