At "Fen Dang Jia Hunan Rice Noodles" on Zhongshan South Road in Yongkang, I can say that it is my wife's favorite shop. Ever since we got to know this place, she has been going almost every day; she visits so often that even the owner recognizes us now (laughs).

This shop offers a wide variety of noodle options, among which I highly recommend the fatty intestine rice noodles and the morel mushroom rice noodles. The portion of fatty intestine is generous, well-seasoned yet not greasy, and it pairs wonderfully with the broth; while morel mushrooms are a relatively rare ingredient in Taiwan, the broth has a rich mushroom aroma that is refreshing but layered—it's personally one of my favorites.

I have also tried their beer duck rice noodles; although it tastes good and has a nice aroma, it doesn't impress quite as much compared to the first two options.

In addition to the main dishes, the side dishes are also a highlight of this shop. The braised pork is rich but not greasy, melting in your mouth, and the chicken gizzards are seasoned just right, yielding a nice chewiness without being tough. The owner decides on the side dish offerings based on the ingredients bought from the market each day, so there are different surprises every time.

The owner is also very friendly and talkative, enjoying conversations with customers, creating a warm atmosphere overall. However, one small reminder is that their rice noodles and flat rice noodles outperform white rice; if it’s your first visit, I recommend choosing noodle dishes as the main course to truly experience the soul of the shop.

Overall, this is an affordable and delicious Hunan small eatery that makes you want to visit every day, with genuine ingredients and distinct flavors. I recommend it to those who enjoy noodles and want to try different flavors of rice noodles!
