This is "Jia Jia Desserts," located in Jordan, Hong Kong. It has been in operation since 1979, making it over 45 years old, and is one of the representative spots for Hong Kong-style dessert among locals and tourists. What impresses people the most is the entire row of Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation plaques on the wall, listed continuously for nine years from 2019 to 2024, which is truly impressive.

The dining area has seating and a fast turnover rate. This time, we ordered and paid online directly using our mobile phones, and the process was very smooth. We ordered three popular desserts:

  • Sesame Paste (Hot) $30: The sesame aroma is very strong, with a smooth and creamy texture. It's rich to the point of feeling like drinking sesame sauce; finishing it alone can be a bit heavy, but it’s really fragrant, perfect for sesame lovers.
  • Walnut Soup (Hot) $32: Smooth in texture, with a mild aroma. It's on the sweeter side but not as heavy as sesame. Ideal for those who enjoy a nutty flavor but prefer a gentler taste.
  • Taro and Lotus Seed Sago (Cold) $29: This bowl was my favorite of the day. The taro was rich yet not overly sweet, with a pleasant texture from the lotus seeds. The sago was cooked just right, and drinking it cold was very refreshing.

The total for the three desserts was HK$91, which is reasonable for a famous dessert place in Hong Kong. Overall, it's an old shop that’s worth visiting at least once, especially suitable for enjoying a bowl after dinner to warm the stomach and satisfy cravings. If you happen to be at Jordan Station, you might want to stop by for a bowl of dessert filled with Hong Kong flavor, which will surely make you miss Hong Kong a little more.

❤️ The only dessert shop, Jiajia, that has received Michelin Guide recognition for eight consecutive years. Operating for over forty years and still maintaining a high standard is truly remarkable. Each post includes actual dining photos; even if it’s just a drink, to prevent some users from posting misleading pictures without food items. Overall rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

📍 This place is located in a small alley next to Nathan Road near Jordan Station. The shop provides quite a few indoor seating options, which are divided into two floors. 🚗 Due to the narrow streets in the area, it's recommended to take the subway or other public transportation.

💬 The service inside is decent (though it seems like they have faced harsh criticism). Customers need to take a number outside and wait until their number is called to be seated. For takeaway, an additional charge applies for the food container, but you won’t need to wait for a number. If it's too crowded, it's advisable to take away. (It’s suggested to check the waiting number status to decide whether to take away.)

Ordering food is currently self-service through an online system; you can scan a QR code to place your order online and pay with a credit card or other methods. You can also pay at the counter, but they only accept Hong Kong dollars in cash.

The speed of food delivery after ordering is not slow, and the shop is clean and not crowded (think of DimDimSum...). If there aren’t too many people or if you’re not in a rush, it’s still recommended to dine in.
