This is a unique dessert from mainland China, starting in Taichung and becoming popular in Taoyuan 😍. The colorful ingredients clearly make it a great Instagrammable food 😁, and with 12 different flavors, it's overwhelming to choose from 😵‍💫. On hot days, you can opt for ice powder, and on cold days, there's lotus root powder to satisfy cravings – truly a blessing for dessert lovers 😆.

Once you get it, it’s super eye-catching with a colorful display. It includes toppings like pearls, small taro balls, sweet potato balls, coconut jelly, dragon fruit pieces, and more 😳. It’s refreshing and icy, and the ice powder itself has no flavor, but the texture is smooth like aiyu jelly. Today, I chose rose lychee, which adds a floral fragrance; I personally find it very delicious 😋.

Brown sugar soft glutinous lotus root powder: (80 NTD)

The lotus root powder, after being brewed with hot water, transforms into a thick semi-solid. When you add handmade brown sugar along with taro balls, red beans, nuts, barley, red dates, pearls, hawthorn, sesame, and other nourishing ingredients 🤩, it essentially becomes a Chinese-style eight-treasure porridge 😆. Taking a bite offers a rich texture with the crunch of nuts, the chewy pearls and taro balls, and the creamy red beans, making it incredibly satisfying. It’s also very filling and can serve as a meal replacement 😆, plus it’s not overly sweet, making it suitable for general tastes 🎉.
