The cakes from this shop are most famous for their tiramisu and marbled cake, priced affordably, making them suitable for family gatherings. The cakes are not sweet and have a light texture, while the black rock yogurt cheese is rich and delicious.
The in-store environment is comfortable, but there are not many seats available. The cooling effect of the semi-open refrigerator is not good, affecting the texture of the cake.
The staff were friendly, but the choice was affected because the black tea was sold out. Overall, the service was acceptable, but there is still room for improvement.
A cake shop chain from Taiwan 🍰
You can enjoy delicious cakes at an affordable price!
【Atmosphere of the shop】
I did takeout this time, so I didn't go inside, but it didn't seem like there were many seats. The showcase is located on the street, so you can take a good look at the cakes without entering the shop, which is a discreet recommendation point 😅
【Food Evaluation】
Tiramisu 35 TWD (about 160 yen)
It wasn't too sweet, had a light texture, and was easy to eat! The fluffy cream on top and the crunchy cookie at the bottom paired well together, and the size was just right for a quick bite 🤤
Black Rock Yogurt Cheesecake 45 TWD (about 200 yen)
It's a moist cake similar to cheesecake. The black topping on top was very moist, and I thought it was a soft cookie, but it turned out to be chocolate, haha. Even with the chocolate topping, it wasn't too sweet, and I enjoyed it deliciously! You can savor a rich flavor ✨
【Overall Evaluation】
After seeing past reviews, I heard that takeout was good, so I decided to go for takeout this time and chilled it in the freezer before eating! Since I haven't eaten inside the shop, I can't say which is better, but I think it's great that you can adjust the firmness and coldness to your liking ◎
My favorite point is definitely the cost performance! The price is comparable to just buying a little dessert at a convenience store, haha. There were plenty of varieties, so I might end up visiting regularly 🤭
This dessert shop is probably well-known among many people in Taiwan because there are branches everywhere. It focuses on being affordable, so given the price, I wouldn't really have high expectations for the taste. It's very suitable for buying whole cakes for birthdays; it's just right for the whole family to share.
This time, it was my first time buying small slices of cake, and I've just found out that they offer dine-in here. However, eating here has a much different texture compared to eating at home. The store has a semi-open refrigerator; it's not that cold, just cool enough to not spoil. But personally, I prefer my cakes frozen. It tends to have more of an ice cream texture and is also less sweet. So next time, I think I'll just buy it to take home.
This cake shop is widely known as a famous affordable dessert store, with many branches in various locations. However, this is my first time dining in (although it seems not every store allows dining in). I have purchased cakes from this shop many times, and their signature item is naturally the tiramisu. The Malt cake can definitely be considered a hidden gem!
This time, we ordered:
Tiramisu $30/slice – fairly standard.
Malt cake $30/slice – it’s too soft here; taking it out of the freezer makes it feel very much like ice cream.
Black rock yogurt cheesecake $35/slice – rather soft and difficult to cut; it completely falls apart when sliced.
Fresh milk puffs $75/box – also soft.
These items were delicious when I bought them home and froze them, but I don’t know why the shop's refrigeration for dine-in is so weak. Almost everything was soft, and they had just been taken out... I can only say that if you want to buy cakes from this shop, you should definitely take them home, freeze them, and then eat them; dining in is not ideal. When I came, the black tea was already sold out. I don’t drink coffee, and the cakes are soft, making the whole experience very rich; I could only ask the shop for water to go with it.
In the past, I ordered:
Ferrero hazelnut chocolate – the texture was nice and very tasty.
Strawberry brownie cake – I bought it just because it was a new product; there isn’t anything special about it, but it’s not bad either.
A whole box of brownies – although it's said to be lava-style, I still prefer the texture taken straight from the fridge. So, I basically don't get that melted feeling.
Light cheesecake is also standard; the main point is that it’s really cheap.
All of these items can be frozen and taken out to thaw for 5-10 minutes for the best taste. However, my first experience dining in was a huge disappointment; it really wasn’t good when it’s not cold.
