🌟 A great choice for celebrating birthdays, gatherings, and dining out.
🌟 The duck breast and sakura shrimp fried rice are truly wonderful.
🌟 The set menu includes a parking discount for 2 hours and a 10% service charge.

The restaurants under the Wang Pin brand have always impressed me with their excellent service, pleasant dining environment, and high-standard dishes.
Especially the duck breast at Summer Palace is highly recommended!!

The "Summer Palace Yonghua Branch" is located on Yonghua Road in Anping, with great parking nearby. It just underwent renovations, and the entire space is spacious and atmospheric. You can make reservations online, but for large gatherings, it's best to call ahead.

The Summer Palace Tainan Yonghua branch features brand new decor that retains French elegance, with design elements and lighting accented in gold. The overall style emphasizes a modern and bright feel. The dining package allows for 2 hours of free parking at the Tainan City Government parking lot, which is really convenient and adds to the dining experience.

The space includes a round table in the center, an open area that can accommodate about 10 people, and a private room that can host 30-40 guests. There's also a separate dining area for enjoying desserts, which is very thoughtful.

Let's eat!
We ordered the French dual-person set menu for NT$2980 + 10%.
The per-person set is NT$1190 + 10%.

The set menu includes:
Parmesan cheese bread, hot appetizers,
Soups (Wagyu beef Borscht, seafood clear soup, onion cheese soup)
Salads (smoked salmon, mushroom salad, fruit salad)
Lemon sorbet
Seafood (Hokkaido scallops, prawns, flounder)
Main courses (A5 Wagyu beef, brandy duck breast)
Sakura shrimp fried rice
Desserts and drinks (variety of cold/hot drinks)

Three kinds of condiments:
The onions on the left are meant for the fried rice.
The spread in the middle is for the bread.
The rose salt on the right is for the main dishes.

The accompanying non-alcoholic sparkling drink can be refilled for free (you can drink as much as you want).

I found the Parmesan bread paired with the spread tasted better 🤣
(It can be refilled for free.)

Hot appetizers: Fennel butter shrimp + truffle steamed egg.
The steamed egg is salty, soft, and when paired with truffle, it's really a classic — even though it seemed a bit mini, I was really full after finishing the whole set!
The shrimp is paired with fennel butter sauce, which is chewy and delicious.

Soups: French onion cheese soup / Wagyu Borscht.
The cheese in the onion soup is very soothing as it stretches, and the broth is rich and sweet.
The Borscht with Wagyu beef is tender, and the broth is more refreshing.

Salad: Waldorf fresh fruit salad.
A small plate filled with almost six types of fruit: apple, strawberry, grape, pineapple, dates, pomelo, and quail eggs, with yogurt dressing that’s just right.
I think the most impressive one was the apple; I’m not sure if it’s the variety or if it was seasoned, but it had a strong longan fragrance and was really delicious 😋.
The mushroom salad was just average for me.

Seafood: Flounder.
Non-greasy and tender; I finished it quickly.

Lemon sorbet.
Serves to cleanse the palate before the main course.

Seafood: Prawns and scallops.
Chewy and fresh seafood.

Summer Palace sakura shrimp fried rice.
I think the sakura shrimp fried rice can be considered a signature dish of Summer Palace; each grain is distinct and not greasy, complemented by the pop of fish roe's texture, making it really delicious.
During the pandemic, I often ordered takeout from there — it’s fantastic.

Classic main courses: brandy duck breast / Wagyu.
If you haven’t had the duck breast at Summer Palace, it’s equivalent to not visiting!
The duck breast is substantial and large; even though it's a big piece, it’s never dry or hard to chew. The duck skin is crispy, and the pickled apples beside it provide a sweet and sour counter to the richness. Every time I eat here, it’s always amazing!!

Wagyu has rich marbling, and it’s soft in the mouth; the garlic slices beside it are an essential soul mate, truly giving a feeling of happiness. However, I find it a bit oily, but the portion size at Summer Palace is just perfect for me!

Dessert: strawberry lemon mousse.
The sweet and sour taste is quite sweet for me, but dessert must still be sweet 🤣🤣.

Drink: elderflower grape sparkling drink.
After drinking it, I realized the cake was indeed sweeter 🤣🤣.

Impressions: The duck breast and fried rice at Summer Palace are truly exceptional!! After not coming for a while, the standard remains high, and the service quality is great; highly recommended.

If you prioritize food: The duck breast and sakura shrimp fried rice are highly recommended.

If you prioritize the environment: Clean, comfortable, spacious, and full of ambiance.

If you prioritize parking: Motorcycles can park at the entrance; cars can park at the city government parking lot (with a discount for 2 hours).

If you prioritize restrooms: There are plenty, separated.

If you prioritize waiting: I recommend making a reservation.

If you prioritize service: Super great 👍.

If you care about value for money: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (This purely discusses food in relation to price).
