The skin of the pan-fried soup dumplings is thin and filled with meat, and when made fresh, the broth is boiling hot. The aroma from the frying enhances the texture, making it suitable for people of all ages to enjoy. Even if they cool down slightly after being taken out, the flavor remains intact, and they taste even better when paired with white vinegar and chili.
The restaurant is very popular, and you almost always have to wait in line when you come here. The environment is comfortable, making it a great place to share delicious food with friends. This is a nostalgic delicacy that many people must try when they return to Kaohsiung.
The queue flows smoothly, and when dining in, the owner will indicate the seating. The service efficiency is good, making the dining experience pleasant. The speed of food delivery is fast, with multiple pots being grilled simultaneously on-site.

This is a delicious taste that I have enjoyed since my student days.
During this recent holiday, I went back to Kaohsiung and saw that the place on Rehe Street was open, so I immediately parked and went to buy some.
The prices have increased a bit compared to before.
I bought a large box of 10 pieces for 110 TWD to share with my family.
The pan-fried buns are made fresh at the back and then pan-fried in a skillet,
with three pans frying at the same time, so the serving speed was quite fast.
After bringing them home, they had already cooled down a bit,
but when I bit into them, they were still full of meat juice and hadn’t lost their flavor.
Dipping them in the accompanying white vinegar and chili brought back the taste I remembered!!
In summary,
this is the delicious taste I crave when I return to Kaohsiung.
I recommend it to everyone!
🌟 Shanghai Pan-fried Soup Dumplings
🌟 A must-visit street food to queue for on Rehe Street
It seems like I’ve never been here without having to wait in line?
This shows how popular the shop really is 👏🏻
Usually, everyone buys a drink next door to enjoy with their meal.
The queueing process is very smooth.
You first place your order and pay.
For takeout, you go straight to the exit to wait.
For dine-in, the owner will guide you to a seat.
To accommodate more customers,
tables for two are usually combined.
There aren’t too few seats, but it can get close to being fully packed inside.
This time, I ordered a small portion (6 pieces) as an afternoon tea snack.
The size is similar to regular soup dumplings.
Each pan-fried bun has a thin skin and plenty of filling.
They're freshly made and come with scalding hot soup inside, so be careful‼️
Unlike regular soup dumplings, there’s an added fragrance from the frying,
and the slightly crispy dough adds to the texture.
Overall, it's excellent!
It’s truly a street food that both adults and kids can enjoy 👍🏻
But be prepared to wait in line and accept sharing tables!
If you come to Kaohsiung, you must try the pan-fried soup dumplings recommended by many people! As soon as the doors opened, there were a lot of people queuing up... There are queues for both takeout and dine-in, but most of the people wanted takeout. We went dine-in that day and didn't have to wait too long. However, the dine-in discount is one item per person. Items (Actually, you can choose between soup and pan-fried buns)
🥟Fried soup dumplings, small portion (6 pieces) 70$
The soup dumplings are quite small and there is a lot of juice inside, so be careful when scalding them! However, the filling has nothing memorable for me. Instead, it has the taste of sesame seeds on the top of the skin. The skin on the bottom has a really cool texture. It’s so crispy that I want to keep eating it! All in all, I think it’s worth trying something new (you can try the Xiaoya Taro Sago Dew next door), but I won’t want to visit again next time I visit Kaohsiung.
