The mung bean soup and rice dumplings at this restaurant are highly favored. The mung bean soup is slightly sweet, but the flavor is just right when ice is added. The rice dumplings are rated as the best I've ever had, with a large and chewy texture.
The dining environment in the restaurant's arcade is comfortable, and the kitchen is right next to it, which feels quite friendly.
Every time I come to Tainan, the first stop requires at least two bowls – I really love it. The dining environment in the corridor is quite good, and the kitchen is right next door, producing very well each day.
They offer red bean soup and green bean soup, but I've always stuck with green bean soup with "fen jiao" (a type of dumpling). The green bean soup is a bit sweet for me, but when ice cubes melt into it, it's just right. The "fen jiao" is unbeatable, large, soft, chewy, and has great texture. It's completely transparent (the ones I’ve had elsewhere are usually smaller, with white spots in the middle that feel a bit hard). This is the best I've ever tasted. There are other branches, but they seem to operate independently, and for some reason, I still feel this one is the most satisfying. This time, I came twice in three days (one day was closed) and ate two bowls on-site and took one to go, totaling four bowls. I’m nostalgic about it, haha.
