🚩 Over a decade of unchanged Japanese set meals, unlimited refills in the self-service area. 😋

Fuxing Pavilion was established in 2006 and is a specialty store for Japanese pork cutlets under the Sanshan Group. The branch I visited today is in Xindian, conveniently located just a minute's walk from Dapinglin MRT station, on the second floor accessible by stairs. The decor follows the chain's consistent style, with a somewhat glaring red wall behind the counter. The seating area has two levels, and the window seats have good lighting.

Upon entering the second floor, you immediately find the ordering counter. After ordering at the counter, you take a number and find your seat, where staff will bring your meals to the table. They accept cash and various payment methods, and there's no service fee with invoice availability.

Today, I used a discount coupon from China Trust ⬇️
Auspicious Pork Cutlet Set + Tender Fried Chicken Fillet Set + Japanese-style Tofu + Drinks *2 (original price 555 TWD, special price 427 TWD).
The set meal consists of meat + shredded cabbage + white rice + side dishes + miso soup.
Fried Chicken Fillet: The Japanese-style fried crust is not too hard, the meat is tender, and the portion is quite generous.
Fried Pork Cutlet: This is the timeless signature dish, consistently good; the thickness of the pork cutlet is also quite sufficient.
The fried items can be enjoyed with sweet or spicy sauces. Today's ingredients were fresh, allowing me to taste the original flavor without dipping sauces.
Shredded Cabbage: The portion is generous, typically paired with yuzu vinegar. The vinegar tastes quite sour but becomes addictive after a few bites; some people recommend pairing it with the sweet sauce. 🤣. The staff will come to your table to ask if you need a refill, but I was already quite full, so I didn't ask for more.
White Rice: Unlimited refills for dine-in. Today's rice was okay, and the best part is that you can sprinkle sesame and seaweed on it, unlike some places where you only get the initial bowl.
Side Dishes: The cold dishes of bamboo shoots and kelp are delicious, but unfortunately, you can't get refills on these; otherwise, I could eat two more bowls with rice.
Miso Soup: This is also available for unlimited refills during dine-in; it doesn't skimp on ingredients just because it's free. The soup is rich in flavor, and you can add green onions and kelp yourself—super awesome! 😍.
I also ordered baby corn separately: it's quite large yet not hard, with a nice texture, but the sesame sauce was a bit bland and tasteless.
I ordered a bowl of chawanmushi: it was average, the price was a bit high, so I wouldn't recommend getting it. It's better to go for something else.
In addition to the meals, they offered two packets of grape vinegar (which I didn't drink), and the quality of the dine-in drink machine was a bit unstable; I ended up with an extremely sweet lemon black tea, sweet enough that I had to dilute it with lemon water, yet it was still super sweet.

Fuxing Pavilion was one of my favorite places when I was in college, but I haven't been back in recent years. Today, it felt like not much had changed (though the prices have risen 😅). Overall, it’s still very nice; in this rapidly changing world, finding something unchanged and familiar is a bit touching. 🥺
