The red bean donut has a rich sweetness, paired with a crispy donut. The sweetness of the red bean filling in the middle is slightly strong. It's suitable to pair with unsweetened tea, but the overall taste can be a bit too rich.
Location: Zhongshan District, Taipei City
The famous snack-filled Qingguang Shopping District features an abundance of delicious food and snacks nearby. Even the desserts are very varied. Passing by, I smelled an incredibly sweet aroma and stopped to find out that the red bean dish would take some time while the others didn’t require any waiting. My inner monologue: So the red bean must be the most popular?!
Waiting for it...
🌟 Red Bean Dessert
Upon taking a bite, there's a burst of sweetness from the donut sugar. It has a crispy donut texture, and the filling in the center is sweet red bean paste. For me, it’s a bit too sweet. It pairs very well with unsweetened tea. By the time I reached the end, the sweetness felt overwhelming, which was a bit unfortunate—perhaps the red bean is just too sweet for me. Next time, I might try the original flavor.
Since the Qingguang Shopping District really has an abundance of snacks, this one didn’t leave me too amazed and was a bit too sweet. So if I come back, I will probably focus on other delicious foods instead.
