The mentaiko burger patty has a soft texture but is slightly dry, while the golden cheese burger patty has a perfect balance of salty and sweet flavors. The fried items and desserts are well-executed. The pasta is a bit dry, and the miso soup is not hot enough. The portion sizes are sufficient, but the prices are a bit high.
The interior decoration has a Japanese family restaurant style, with a relatively small space and a cozy atmosphere. It is suitable for diners who are not in a hurry.
Using QR code self-service ordering, the service efficiency is average, and a 10% service charge is required.

Yamamoto Hamburg, originating from Tokyo, Japan, established its first overseas branch in Taiwan in 2015 and is said to be the first Japanese hamburger steak specialty store in Taiwan.
Yamamoto Hamburg is located on Guangfu South Road in the Da’an District of Taipei City, with the nearest MRT station being the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Exit 2, about a 2-minute walk away. The restaurant's decor has a very Japanese family restaurant style, quite different from the typical Japanese minimalism, with yellow-painted walls adding a warm touch. The indoor ceiling height is not very high, and the spacing between tables and chairs is quite cramped.
Today, I came for lunch on a weekday and had to wait a little bit before being seated. The restaurant was almost full with six diners. The speed of serving dishes is not very fast, so it’s not recommended for those in a hurry. Orders are placed via QR code, and after dining, you can settle the bill using cash or credit card. Invoices are issued for those who need them, and a service charge is applicable.
I ordered the Mentaiko Hamburger Steak for $320. The steak, made from a mix of beef and pork, had a pleasant variety of flavors and was very tender, easy to cut with a spoon. It was topped with mentaiko, but I found it a bit dry. Personally, I thought it was decent, but the accompanying pasta was cold and extremely dry, to the point that I had to dip it in someone else's sauce to eat it (seriously, it could have been left out). The rice was made from Japanese rice, which was fine and tasty. The miso soup was not very warm.
The Golden Cheese Hamburger Steak for $370 features the standard hamburger steak sauce with plenty of cheese sauce on top, offering a combination of salty, sweet, and savory flavors. Although a bit pricey, it was quite delicious, and I recommend it.
For a group of six with three set meals, the fried items and desserts performed well. If you have the budget, you can order extras. I found the portion sizes quite sufficient, and you can refill rice and soup once, but the 10% service charge feels a bit unfriendly. It’s worth a visit for a change of pace, but I probably won’t return.
