The overall meal is mediocre, especially the seasoning and side dishes of the soup curry, which are underwhelming, lacking in aroma and not complementary in texture. Some dishes, such as the deep-fried shrimp tempura and the braised pork soup curry, are not recommended and are disappointing.
The environment in the store is somewhat crowded and the lighting is dim. The decor has a unique style with a subtle American street vibe, but the overall atmosphere is not very appealing.
In terms of service, due to a shortage of staff, the speed of taking orders and serving food is relatively slow, which affects the dining experience.
Actually, this place wasn't on my must-try list; I just ended up here because the queue at the nearby Kirin Ramen was too long. During lunchtime, there was completely no one dining in the restaurant, so I didn't have to wait to be seated.
This restaurant specializes in "Hokkaido Soup Curry," and the interior decor is somewhat subtle, giving off an American street hip-hop vibe. The lighting is quite dim, and the menu design is pretty good, with illustrations that make it easy to understand.
I ordered the Energetic Tender Chicken Soup Curry and added an extra chicken leg 🍗.
I was a bit surprised that the tender chicken soup curry came with a whole chicken leg! I expected the chicken meat to be in regular chunks, but it turned out to be a thigh, so I ended up eating two large chicken legs 😂.
The chicken leg was somewhat like boiled chicken leg meat, cut from the whole leg including the thigh part. The meat was okay, but I found the seasoning a bit bland, somewhat like poached white meat, and it didn’t really complement the soup curry, which I personally didn't like much.
As for the soup curry, I couldn't taste any prominent layers of spices, which was a bit disappointing, and I wasn't particularly fond of the side dishes either.
I would strongly suggest that the restaurant remove the cooked cucumber; it has an awkward texture neither crispy nor soft, and it doesn’t go well with the curry flavor. When I bit into the cucumber, its strong taste and texture completely ruined the curry experience for me, haha (of course, this is just my personal preference; maybe others really enjoy cooked cucumber with soup curry).
Overall, my dining experience at Silver Rabbit Curry wasn't very satisfying. The environment was a bit odd, and I was disappointed with the meat and the lack of layers in the curry, while the side dishes detracted from the overall experience.
I probably won’t come back to dine here. Next time, I’ll stick to the Kirin Ramen next door 🍜.
Lunch at Zhongshan Station, I originally wanted to eat ramen, but found the line to be too long. I noticed that the nearby soup curry place had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Conclusion: I do not recommend it at all.
When we entered the restaurant, there was only one table occupied, but there was only one staff member. We had to wait a long time for both ordering and getting our food. I understand the current labor shortage, but if the food isn’t good, then it just isn’t.
I ordered the braised pork soup curry with a little spice, but there was absolutely no spiciness at all… I think I am somewhat sensitive to spice, but this had none, and my dining companion also said it was completely non-spicy. No good~ Then the pork was not tender at all; it was so tough it was inedible… really do not recommend.
Overall, the prices were quite high, and I feel the quality of the food did not match that price.
It's really recommended to try the braised pork soup curry (or yuzu pepper chicken neck meat) at Suage!
This time I ordered the torched bacon cabbage soup curry, and the recommended medium spice level is completely not spicy. Even my companions, who don't eat spicy food, said it wasn't spicy at all. There was no torched bacon or torched flavor; it was just a somewhat tough, ordinary thick bacon!
The soup base isn't hard to drink, but it lacks some aroma! The vegetable accompaniments were a bit peculiar; common ingredients like zucchini and okra were missing, but they included peas and cucumber. 😂
Also, the lemonade in the restaurant might have too much lemon; it's really super sour regular lemonade. 😂
To be honest, it doesn't feel cheap, but Suage is more stable in terms of quality at the same price point.
Environment: The seats are quite crowded and you can clearly hear the chat at the next table. The environment is overall clean and tidy.
Meals:
. Frosty beef soup curry: average, nothing surprising
. Fried shrimp tempura: Not recommended, 3 small fried shrimps cost 180, totally not worth it
