The Italian Kitchen's small branch (??) seems to focus on lasagna. I went there once when it first opened, and at that time, the menu was indeed centered around lasagna. Now, they have added many more items, including various pasta dishes, desserts, gelato, and more.
This time, I ordered the tomato sauce chicken meatballs, grandpa's vegetable soup, and sautéed garlic spicy seasonal seafood with squid wave-shaped pasta.
The base of the chicken meatballs is a rich tomato sauce, and the meatballs are not dry; they are topped with a bit of pesto, which is a nice touch! It also comes with two pieces of crispy French baguette.
The vegetable soup is vegetarian, made from sweet onions, carrots, and celery - it tastes really fresh! The addition of potatoes, chickpeas, and oats adds a nice variety to the texture.
As for the wave-shaped pasta, it arrives with a strong shrimp flavor! The pasta itself is super twisted; it was my first time having such pasta, and it soaked up a lot of sauce! The dish balances garlic, spice, and freshness quite prominently, but I found it a bit salty. They mentioned that the chef is Italian, which explains the stronger flavors. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
When I was paying the bill, the waiter reminded me that next time I could ask for a lighter option, and that customization is possible!
