The dish number 93, Tomato Beef Noodle Soup, has a rich flavor profile. The beef broth made with tomatoes blends perfectly with the beef flavor, and the knife-shaved noodles have an excellent texture. The Tomato Beef Pie is sweet but not overly so, while the Braised Beef Noodle Soup lacks the tomato flavor but offers a variety of noodle choices.
The restaurant is located in a busy area, and the space is relatively narrow. Especially during peak dining hours, it can feel crowded, but the overall atmosphere is still friendly.
The service staff's attitude is friendly, but the waiting time is longer during peak hours. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance to reduce waiting time.
Today I visited a beef noodle shop near the Shandao Temple MRT station and found it completely full. So, I took a number and waited to try this place, sitting down after about half an hour.
I ordered a bowl of tomato beef pancake and braised beef noodles, both priced under 200 NT dollars. It’s rare to find beef noodles in Taipei at such a reasonable price.
The tomato beef pancake was delicious. The tomatoes were cooked to sweetness and weren't cloying at all, which seemed to take a long time to prepare. The beef was of a chewy variety, with about 4 to 5 pieces. The pancake was soaked in scallion oil pancakes, making it a unique experience.
The broth of the braised beef noodles lacked the tomato flavor. There was a choice between rice vermicelli and shaved noodles, and the shaved noodles were chewy and tasty. 😋
I recommend trying the tomato beef noodles.
Next time, I’d like to try the stir-fried pancakes as I saw many customers ordering them, and they looked delicious.

Today I would like to share my favorite shop "93 Tomato Beef Noodles". It is located near Shandao Temple, about a 4-minute walk from Exit 2. I happened to go to the Consular Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to renew my passport today, so I came here to eat my favorite dish after a long time. Fried pancakes!
Yes, every time I come to this store, I eat fried pancakes instead of beef noodles, but I heard from friends that their tomato beef noodles and pork ribs are also really good.
In the past, I had the impression that I had to wait a long time to eat here, but I still didn't learn the lesson. I didn't call to make a reservation first, so I went to the restaurant and ordered directly. The waiter said that the stir-fry would need to wait, but it actually took 45 minutes...
But I really missed the taste of fried pancakes in this shop, so I had to wait patiently. I believe the delicious food is worth the wait!
Pork fried cake $105
The fried pancakes taste a bit like scallion pancakes cut into small pieces. They are very fragrant. They are really delicious when paired with shredded pork, cabbage, eggs and other ingredients that are stir-fried together! And it’s very special, something I haven’t tasted in other stores! If I really want to talk about the shortcomings, it should be that it is a bit oily...
Overall, the fried pancakes are as delicious as ever and highly recommended, but the waiting time is really too long. I suggest you call in advance to make an appointment for takeout, which will save a lot of time!
ps I felt that the store clerk was not very flexible. I heard that the 45-minute wait was too long, so I planned to go to a nearby place to do some errands before coming back, so I asked the store clerk if I could just make an appointment and pick it up one hour later (same as making an appointment by phone) The concept is very similar), but the store clerk said no, they can only make it first and leave it there to cool down.
93 Tomato Beef Noodles is located on Qingdao East Road, which is quite close to the Legislative Yuan. The reason for the name 93 is unknown. As the name suggests, the store’s signature is of course beef noodles, but the store’s fried noodles are also quite popular.
What I enjoyed today was pork ribs noodles in tomato beef soup, priced at 150 yuan.
Pork Ribs Noodles in Tomato Beef Soup:
In fact, I hesitated for a long time, whether to choose tomato beef noodles, tomato pork ribs noodles, or tomato beef ribs noodles. These three have different soups and meat ingredients.
Because the reviews of the store's ribs are also surprisingly good, but obviously I don't have beef for beef soup, but if I don't try it, I don't know when I can visit again next time...
Anyway, I finally decided to eat pork ribs noodles in tomato beef soup.
The ribs were served first. The ribs were of average thickness with a little seasoning sprinkled on top.
I tasted one piece as soon as it was served. The crispy texture matched the seasoning of the skin surprisingly well.
The beef noodle soup was served. The noodle was made of shaved noodles, which made me frown at first, but after eating it, I found that the shaved noodles here are quite delicious.
If the shaved noodles are poorly made, they will be worse than gnocchi (I don’t like gnocchi either), but this one is quite good in terms of thickness, elasticity, and texture.
The beef flavor of the soup and the sweet and sour tomatoes are also perfectly blended.
At the end of the meal, I was surprised to find a small piece of beef. Some old-school restaurants will put a small piece of beef rim in the bowl of the customer who orders beef noodle soup, so that the customer can also experience the feeling of eating meat.
Although I don’t know if it’s because of this factor, the beef is quite tender and very delicious.
However, the pork ribs and beef noodles actually feel like enjoying two dishes. Although they are both delicious, they don’t feel particularly related.
Overall, you can understand why this is a famous beef noodle shop around Zendao Temple and is indeed strong.
However, the store is really narrow, so eating during off-peak hours feels very cramped, and eating during peak hours will be quite hard.
It's up to you to decide whether the delicious taste is worth the trouble.
Recommended to everyone.
