The meal's flavors are acceptable, the teppanyaki dishes have a strong flavor, suitable for pairing with rice. The tofu and fried egg are not greasy, the soup is clear and sweet, and the bamboo shoots are abundant. However, the white rice is overcooked.
The dining environment is quite good, clean and clearly marked, with a self-service area that offers ice cream and drinks.
# Tucheng
I remember that the Guilin Teppanyaki is also a chain.
This is my first time dining at this one inside the Daan Department Store in Tucheng.
The business was quite good on Friday night.
We ordered an economical special and a value special for two adults and one child.
We had beef, pork, squid, shrimp, tofu, a fried egg, and two servings of vegetables.
The standard for teppanyaki includes cabbage and bean sprouts.
The seasoning wasn't too salty, and the cooking level was just right.
Both the pork and beef were stir-fried with a lot of aromatic spices.
The flavors were a bit strong, so it's better to have it with rice.
The tofu and fried egg were good and didn't feel greasy.
The squid and shrimp were salty enough to eat on their own.
For those who prefer stronger flavors, they can dip in the accompanying five-spice sauce.
Overall, I think the meal's taste was adequate.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent either.
However, I found the rice to be quite hard—harder than just being separate grains.
But the soup was pretty good, with lots of bamboo shoots and a refreshing sweetness.
The self-service area also had ice cream and drinks.
The dining environment was okay.
It’s a place I would consider revisiting.
