Luosifen offers a rich soup base with the distinctive flavor of Liuzhou, featuring a moderately sour and spicy taste along with a unique fermented flavor. The fine rice noodles are smooth, chewy, and elastic. The tiger skin pig trotters are fried and braised, resulting in a gelatinous texture that is both chewy and fragrant with a strong sauce aroma. Paired with ingredients like pickled bamboo shoots and pickled beans, everything is delicious. Overall, the dishes are abundant and have an excellent texture.
The store is spacious and comfortable, with a good selection of late-night snacks. The takeout packaging design is eye-catching, making it suitable for takeout customers. Although the store is somewhat hidden, the atmosphere is nice and it is convenient for making reservations for pickup.
The in-store service is convenient, and takeout can be ordered in advance. The business hours are until 1 AM, catering to late-night dining needs.
Good Luosuo Snail Rice Noodle is located near Gongguan Station on the Taipei Metro, just a three-minute walk away. Although the store is slightly hidden in an alley off Roosevelt Road Section 4, you can immediately sense the strong aroma of sour and spicy flavor as you get closer.
# Open During the New Year
Closed from New Year's Eve to the second day of the New Year, resuming normal business on the third day.
Today, I took out the Tiger Skin Pork Knuckle Luosuo Rice Noodle, priced at 290 NT dollars.
Tiger Skin Pork Knuckle Luosuo Rice Noodle:
There are two options for the broth: Liuzhou flavor and Taiwanese flavor. The Luosuo rice noodle can be chosen as fine or coarse. Today, the Taiwanese flavor and coarse noodles were sold out, so I opted for the Liuzhou flavor with fine noodles and added an extra portion of noodles.
The Liuzhou flavor broth is the soul of the dish, with a strong sour and spicy kick, featuring the unique fermented taste of snail soup, mixed with the richness of spices. I chose medium spicy, and it was very satisfying to drink. The fine noodles have a smooth and chewy texture, being both delicate and elastic, while also excellent at grabbing the broth. Although the extra noodles cost 50 NT dollars, the deliciousness makes it worthwhile.
The outside of the Tiger Skin Pork Knuckle is processed quite well; after being deep-fried at high temperature, it is then braised, making it retain a gelatinous chewiness while delivering a rich sauce flavor. The pork knuckle meat is also very tender, perfectly complementing the broth.
The standard accompaniments of pickled bamboo shoots, pickled beans, wood ear mushrooms, stinky tofu, and peanuts were all very tasty, especially the pickled beans which went exceptionally well with the broth.
The takeout packaging is quite eye-catching, with the hot broth packed inside the Luosuo noodle container. If it accidentally cools down, you can heat it up by placing it in water.
Overall, it is a Luosuo noodle place worth trying. The shop is open until one in the morning, making it a good choice for a late-night snack. The interior of the store is spacious and comfortable, and you can conveniently make a reservation online for takeout.
While 290 NT dollars may seem a bit high, the rich ingredients, the rich elasticity of the Luosuo rice noodle, and the solid main dish make it worth the value.
I really want to try the Taiwanese flavor and coarse noodles; I will definitely come back when I have time.
I recommend it to everyone!
