Japanese set meal | NT$300~NT$300

AI Spot Summary

Simple review:
I have personally visited this place more than three times; basically, nothing disappoints, especially the fried food: fried chicken!
The restaurant is run by an elderly couple, the grandmother is Japanese and has excellent skills! The grandfather mainly takes care of ordering and checkout, and both are very polite. They would be very happy if you spoke to them in Japanese. Due to their old age, the serving speed is a bit slow; if the restaurant is full, it can take over 30 minutes to get your food, but the deliciousness makes it forgivable.

This time, I ordered quite a lot because I was hungrier:

Beef Udon:
The noodles and broth combine excellently, similar to what I had in Shikoku, bringing a homely flavor. The only slight disappointment was that the beef slices were ordinary, just typical hot pot meat slices.

Fried Chicken and Salmon Saikyo-Yaki Set:
The highlight of this place is definitely the fried chicken! It has been praised endlessly on Google Maps; it’s delicious without any seasoning—juicy and tender, a bite that's unforgettable.
The salmon saikyo-yaki is truly authentic; it is marinated with white miso, mirin, and sugar, then grilled to perfection. The fish is cooked just right, never overdone, and retains its aroma, though you should be careful of the bones.
The set comes with side dishes like broccoli, bamboo shoots, stir-fried cabbage, seaweed salad, and the standard tamagoyaki.
The portion is ample and just right.

Hamburger Steak and Fried Chicken Bento:
The bento box portion is slightly smaller than the set (because it's in a bento box), and while the texture of the hamburger steak is okay, the sauce is perfect. Just the sauce itself can finish a big bowl of rice; I later asked them and it seems it’s called Worcestershire sauce—really amazing...

Barley Tea: Refreshing and thirst-quenching with a large cup, the only downside is that there are quite a few impurities in the ice.

There is only one drawback:
Because of the semi-open kitchen, there is a heavier smell of cooking oil inside. When I finished dining and left, my clothes smelled of oil fumes. However, they might not have the chance to improve this. If you're sensitive to oil smells, I recommend taking out instead, which is a bit of a shame…

By the way, their pudding is highly recommended, but it's something you can only encounter by chance; unfortunately, I didn't get to try it this time. If I get the chance next time, I'll review it again, or else the taste in my memory may not be accurate.

This review will also be posted on Google Maps.
