JR East Japan Hotel Brilliant Buffet

This is a buffet that has left a deep impression on us and a great choice for gatherings. Although the price is slightly higher, there is a discount for elderly diners, making it absolutely worthwhile in terms of quality. This is our second year coming to this buffet. We are accustomed to lining up early for the first batch to enter and dine. The menu mainly features Japanese cuisine. Based on my preferences this time, I’ll introduce a few dishes.

(1) General Tso's Chicken: This adjusted Chinese dish is quite good. It's neither too oily nor too salty. The vegetables added (onions, red peppers, etc.) have excellent flavor.

(2) French Steamed Oyster Pudding with Shrimp Sauce: I have always loved Japanese chawanmushi, which includes delicious steamed seafood such as shrimp and clams. The similar French steamed oyster pudding is served in a smaller cup, drizzled with a special sauce, and taking a small taste was truly delightful.

(3) Shark Smoked: I’m very happy to find local Taiwanese snacks available here. Very authentic!

(4) Simmered Sweetfish: A very tasty Japanese side dish.

(5) Various Hand Rolls: Of course, this must not be missed. I chose several rolls: asparagus, eel, and shrimp. The chef does not wrap too much rice. I love seaweed, so the more the better.

(6) Desserts and Ice Cream: It’s nice to have a little sweetness after the meal.

Not eating starches (fried rice, noodles, sushi) first this time was truly wise. It allows one to taste a variety of dishes without overindulging. It's suitable for elderly diners. Eating slowly and increasing protein intake.

I highly recommend this buffet. Each year there are new delights to discover. I hope the business continues to flourish.
