After the renovation, the Xiluo rest stop has become quite nice—clean and with a wide variety of food options. However, if I had to choose the best place for a quick energy boost, it would definitely be this baozi shop.🤣 Traditional snacks are the best! They're cheap and filling, which is great for those traveling long distances on the highway.
The menu has a total of 13 types of baozi. In addition to the various meat fillings, there are also scallion rolls, cheese rolls, and similar noodle dishes.
The baozi here aren’t heavy at all; they're light, but the meat isn't skimped on. It's a bit unfortunate that the spicy flavor was so popular it sold out, so I had to choose from a few other meat baozi. I recommend the shiitake mushroom and salted egg yolk ones. The salted egg yolk portion is quite generous, and it's very satisfying—definitely a must-try for salted egg yolk lovers! The shiitake mushroom baozi can be hit or miss. The one I got had three large shiitake mushrooms inside, while my family member's baozi only had one small mushroom. However, the flavor was just right—not too salty!
Basically, eating two baozi is enough to feel full. 👍🏻 As for the most expensive one, the Thai-style stir-fried pork…no…don’t order it… it doesn’t have that Thai flavor and instead has a strange porky taste. I recommend skipping it. 🙂↕️ (Also, it’s a bit disappointing that there's no sauce station here, so you can only taste the most basic flavors.)

I came to Xiluo Rest Stop to use the restroom. The child said he wanted to buy something to drink. He passed by this store and thought it looked good, so he bought it to try. This time he bought fresh meat buns with egg yolk. I didn’t have high expectations. I didn’t expect it. It's really good. The dough is fragrant and the fillings are delicious. Next time I go south on National Highway 1 and pass by the Xiluo Rest Stop, I will make a special trip to buy it at the next rest stop.
