BHC Fried Chicken offers a Jeju-exclusive Volcano Explosive Chicken. The fried chicken has a crispy outer layer, coated with a sauce made from Jeju tangerines, enhancing it with a spicy mayonnaise flavor that is unique and delicious. The boneless fried chicken is generously portioned and easy to eat.
The service attitude of the staff was somewhat impatient, especially during the takeout process, where their tone was not pleasant, affecting the consumer experience.
【Foodholic Nako @ Jeju Island, South Korea】
"BHC" is a fried chicken brand you definitely have to try when visiting Jeju Island, especially because they have limited flavors here. This time we came for their volcano explosive chicken. Honestly, I'm not sure if that's the actual name, but let me explain.
First, about this branch: it's located in the northern part of Jeju Island, right in the city center, near Dongmun Market and the Seven Stars Shopping Street, and it has a great, convenient location at a triangular window.
However, the staff member who took our order today made us feel quite uncomfortable. They were very impatient, and since we were getting takeout, when our food was ready, they called us in a rather rude way in Korean, which was quite unpleasant. This is worth deducting 0.5 stars.
Nevertheless, I still want to give a thumbs up to BHC Fried Chicken.
We ordered the Jeju exclusive flavor, volcano explosive chicken (boneless fried chicken) for ₩26,000 (the menu listed it as ₩27,000, but I’m not sure why it only cost ₩26,000 at checkout; not sure if it was a takeout discount or something).
The volcano explosive chicken is black, resembling something covered in volcanic ash. The black crust is due to frying with bamboo charcoal, and it's drizzled with orange sauce, which looks like lava after a volcanic eruption, hence the name.
The fried chicken itself is super~~~ crispy~~~ and so well fried!!! Even without dipping sauce, it was already delicious, and with the sauce, it takes on a whole new flavor!
The orange sauce is made with oranges from Hallasan in Jeju, and I personally think it tastes like spicy mayo with an orange flavor, which I really like. Dipping it and then pairing it with pickled radish and soda is a perfect match!
Moreover, BHC Fried Chicken offers generous portions. The boneless fried chicken is easy to eat without getting your hands dirty. I highly recommend BHC!
