Taipei Neihu - A ramen shop with a fully mobile scan-to-order system that leans towards a Taiwanese style. The broth is not too salty and can be finished, the chashu is thick, and the soft-boiled egg is large enough to impress!
📍 Tonkotsu Ramen NT$170
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌘
Contents include two slices of chashu, half a soft-boiled egg, kelp sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions.
The noodle's texture is just right, but unfortunately, you can't adjust the firmness when ordering, and I personally prefer my noodles a bit firmer.
The broth is not overly salty; the tonkotsu white broth is very rich.
The chashu is cut quite thick, and the half soft-boiled egg looks quite large (bigger than the usual egg), which is great! They also give a generous amount of green onions!
One minor complaint: the electronic menu says it comes with dried bamboo shoots, but I didn’t get any when I ate it! Was it cooked into the broth? Haha.
▶️ Environment
🔹 The dining space is relatively large, accommodating about 25-27 people. There are a total of 5 four-person tables, 1 two-person table, and 7 single barstool seats.
🔹 The decor is a mix of Taiwanese and Japanese styles.
🔹 Self-serve drinking water is available.
🔹 Cutlery and condiments are self-serve.
🔹 There's a basket for placing bags, which is a plus.
🔻 Personally, I felt that the humidity inside the restaurant was quite heavy, with a somewhat unpleasant moldy smell.
🔻 The red leather chairs for customers looked dirty (I have attached a photo).
▶️ Helpful Reminder
🔹 You need to order using your mobile phone; there is no menu in the restaurant. Find a seat, scan the QR code to order, and then enter your table number.
🔹 Supports LINE Pay and street payment.
▶️ Overall Evaluation
🔹 The ramen prices are reasonable, not too expensive; the value for money is acceptable. The dishes are decent, and the broth is drinkable and not salty, but overall lacks distinctive features. The ordering experience is self-service through QR code; if you're a first-time visitor with no one explaining, it can be confusing, and the guidance is not very clear. It's okay to come and eat here occasionally!
