I just arrived at Hualien train station, so I was looking for food on the map, and I suddenly saw this place called <Temple Entrance Saltwater Chicken>. They have smoked chicken on the menu, so I definitely have to try it out!

The saltwater chicken stall is located right next to the Hualien City Farmers' Association. You just have to turn into Guofu 14th Street from the 7-11 store, and you'll see it. However, the stall is managed by the city farmers' association, so the address is the same as that of the association.

All the ingredients are displayed in a glass refrigerator, looking clean and fresh, with a wide variety of options. There are also some combo meals available for purchase, and if you spend over 150 NTD, you will get a few pieces of fruit for free!

This time, I ordered the saltwater chicken leg (boneless), smoked chicken breast (boneless), smoked chicken wings (bone-in), cucumber, broccoli, baby corn, crispy bamboo shoots, soy milk, and sweet and spicy fish cake.
You can customize your taste preference for light or strong flavors! You can also choose whether or not to have the chicken boned. This is so thoughtful!

The seasoning is not oily or greasy, and it tastes quite refreshing. The smoked chicken is delicious, with a strong smoky aroma. I really like this saltwater chicken place, but... the only thing I didn’t like was their soy milk; it was a bit dry and hard, lacking flavor. I hope they can improve the cooking method for the soy milk 🥹🥹
