After graduating from elementary school, founder Mr. Chen Tangpeng came to Zhanghua Ershui alone at the age of 13 to apprentice in the pastry industry. By chance, he later became an apprentice at the famous Li Hua Bakery in Taipei at that time, and has been working with flour and butter for over fifty years.

In 1975, at the age of 26, he founded Chia Te Bakery, originally named Chia Te Bread Shop, located at No. 277, Section 5, Nanjing East Road. It is a well-known store for producing pineapple cakes as gifts. The continuous setbacks and losses almost made the founder want to give up. However, the enthusiasm and support from loyal customers led the founder to decide to relocate to a new address and reopen. This is the current location at No. 88, Section 5, Nanjing East Road.
