Taipei Neihu - A restaurant with a northern Thai theme. It has set meals, so it’s no problem to eat alone!
📍Taibei chicken noodles NT$229
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌖
Khao soi chicken noodles, also known as Thai golden noodles, is a popular local delicacy in Chiang Mai. The concept is similar to Taiwan’s beef noodles XD
One set meal comes with a bowl of chicken noodles and two plates of side dishes.
One plate is fried pork skin, which can be eaten directly or soaked in soup. The crispy texture and hint of lard aroma remind me of my grandma’s fried pork rinds when I was a kid.
The other dish is purple onions, sauerkraut and lemon.
There are two pieces of meat in the noodles (bangbang leg and leg steak), both of which are chicken leg meat, very tender.
There is also half a hard-boiled egg in it. Sprinkle fried shredded noodles on top to add a crispy texture.
The noodle itself has a somewhat hard texture, chewy but not too elastic.
The main body of the soup is curry soup base, with a faint aroma of coconut milk, slight spiciness, seasoned with coriander and scallions, and a very rich taste.
If I want to describe my current experience, the taste is a bit close to laksa.
I ate the original flavor at first, and then slowly added purple onions, which added a slightly spicy taste and crispness. I think the presence of sauerkraut is low, not so sour but not too salty. Squeezing in lemon makes the aroma of the soup more complete, and this is it!
I have never been to Chiang Mai, but I am so happy to be able to experience Northern Thai cuisine in Taiwan!
▶️ Environment
🔹The dining environment is large and the dining time is limited to 90 minutes
🔹Cup and water will be placed on the table
🔹Tableware will be placed on the table, you can take it by yourself
▶️ Overall evaluation
🔹 The clerk has a Thai accent, which makes you feel very authentic, as if you are in Thailand
🔹 When you check out, you also ask if you are full? Very kind and friendly, they also provide small Thai candies for you to eat.
🔹 This is a Thai restaurant that I would recommend to my friends.
BTW, I will always regard Northern Thailand as Northern Thailand🤣 Is anyone the same as me?
📍Neihu District, Taipei City (near the Department of Internal Medicine)
Northern Thai style Thai restaurant! The hot, sour, and spices are added without mercy, and it’s very tasty!
After coming to the Department of Internal Medicine for a meeting, I found that there were many gourmet restaurants nearby. I followed the Fooday event and found a Thai restaurant to try.
The main focus of the store is a Northern Thai style restaurant. The decoration is also very careful. There are many Chiang Mai decorations and Thai atmosphere. It is a very suitable environment for parties and dates.
🥘
Hot and sour noodle soup ($259):
It’s delicious! People who really like hot and sour flavors and heavy spice flavors will love it!
My favorite is the soup, which has a rich taste. You can taste the sourness, the freshness of seafood or fish sauce, the fragrance of coriander, and the sweetness of the minced pork in the soup.
The ingredients are also very rich, including two meatballs, four pieces of squid, and two shrimps
The only thing that I feel is a little pity is that the noodles are a bit boring. They are yellow oily noodles that are not chewy and mixed with some bean sprouts (but maybe the noodles in Thai cuisine are like this?)
✏️
special place:
🔸As soon as I entered the store, I realized that I didn’t have any cash on me. 😆 I asked the clerk if he could still transfer money.
🔸When checking out, I took out a Wing Fung passbook from the counter and paid for it (I happened to be sitting next to the counter and heard many customers asking if they could pay by credit card or electronically)
🔸The outside service staff all smile and are very friendly, and they will help open the door before entering the store. Highly recommended!
Khao Soi is delicious👍Northern Thai cuisine that is rare in Taiwan!
I just happened to go to Chiang Mai a while ago, and I was looking for some Northern Thai cuisine, so I thought of this restaurant. Located in the busy alley of Neike Business District, this restaurant is the sister store of "P Ming Thai Cuisine" in Hong Kong Station. However, P Ming sells more table dishes, while this small courtyard shop mainly sells individual set meals.
This time I ordered Khao Soi (Northern Thai curry noodles). The soup is slightly different from the one in Chiang Mai. The soup here is thinner and spicy (the amount of coconut milk is less), but it has already scratched the itch. Okay, my craving for Khao Soi has been solved! It is highly recommended to squeeze out the lemon on the side to make the soup more layered! The noodles they use are different from the egg noodles commonly eaten locally. They use ordinary white thin noodles. The fried noodles on the top are actually crispier than the local ones, as crispy as dim sum noodles!
What surprised me even more was his green papaya salad, which was sweet and sour, rich in shrimp flavor, and super appetizing.
The black tea ordered a la carte is very ordinary, $80 is too expensive
Overall, the experience at this restaurant is very good. Although the price is on the high side, the food is unique and delicious. I will still want to visit again in the future✅
