Eating a meal here feels like being cared for by attentive aunties | Hakka cuisine full of warmth 🍲
From the moment I called to make a reservation, I could feel the friendliness of the staff. The meal lasted two hours, so don't be late! 😆
The aunties pay close attention to each table's situation, handling ordering, providing tableware, napkins, and more very well, and they also check if everyone is full.
The restaurant has a simple environment (completely unadorned 😝) and was a bit crowded, as many people came to order New Year’s dishes that day.
🥘
Menu items:
🐔 Hakka Salt-Baked Chicken:
Tastes similar to poached chicken but doesn't have the same chewiness as the local free-range chicken. It is of moderate tenderness and is very affordable at around 300 NT dollars.
🍽️ Old Skin Tender Meat:
Very, very delicious 🤤 This is definitely a dish I will order again next time. It feels like all the essence of the broth is concentrated in the extremely tender tofu, with cilantro and sauce perfectly added for flavor.
🫛 Seasonal Fat Intestines:
The fat intestines are cut into large pieces! They are not too tough to chew through.
🥳 Complimentary - Sesame Oil Pork Slices:
That's right! This was the complimentary dish, but unfortunately, my boyfriend and I didn't quite like the flavor. It had a lot of greasy cabbage and a strong ginger taste; we hardly touched this dish, which felt quite wasteful. 😭
🥳 Complimentary - Fruit Plate:
Quite exquisite, with three types of fruit.
🥳 Complimentary - Mung Bean Soup:
After finishing, the auntie asked if we wanted more to drink. The second bowl turned out to be an enormous one! 🤩
🍄
Would I visit again: Yes!
