This shop uses Taiwanese longan wood charcoal to slowly grill corn, paired with a family recipe for a special sauce, applying it layer by layer. I ordered a traditional-style grilled glutinous rice corn, which had a slightly crispy outer layer. The sauce offered a delicious mingling of salty and sweet flavors, while the aroma of the beans blended with the grilled fragrance, creating a very fragrant yet not greasy experience. The sweetness of the corn balanced perfectly with the sauce.

What impressed me even more was that the shop owner was beautiful and very friendly, chatting with customers while grilling and recommending different flavors and dipping sauce options. The overall atmosphere was very warm and friendly. Even while waiting in line, her enthusiastic greetings and smiles made the experience quite pleasant.

The shop also offers other grilled items, such as grilled rice blood cake, sausages, grilled bean curd, king oyster mushrooms, green beans, and more, all maintaining a consistent quality. If you're looking for dessert or a late-night snack, combining the corn with various grilled items gives a market night vibe.

Overall, Hāng Huán Mèi focuses on traditional-style grilled corn, using no pre-cooking and grilling purely over charcoal to preserve the original sweetness of the corn. The sauce is well-seasoned without overpowering the flavor. The owner's warmth and sincerity added much charm to the snacks.
