The pumpkin risotto is a classic dish at their restaurant. I had it years ago, and I still love it on this return visit! The creamy risotto allows you to choose between a firmer texture with the rice core intact or a softer cook. The cream clings to every grain, and there's also cheese added, paired with sweet pumpkin on the side! I recommend sharing this dish to avoid it becoming too rich!

▶ Pork Knuckle with Golden BBQ Sauce and Tomato Risotto $330 ◀
This dish has a tomato sauce, which gives it a slightly sweet flavor. I personally find the golden BBQ sauce not particularly impressive, but the pork knuckle is indeed very tender and separates easily from the bone!

▶ Seafood Squid Ink Pasta $320 ◀
Although this dish uses squid ink pasta, the seasoning is lightly stir-fried, making it quite refreshing! The slight spiciness is very appetizing.

▶ Mago Pork Chop Single Set $680 ◀
This dish requires a reservation in advance, but I was a bit disappointed this time; the pork chop was drier than last time. I did mention this to the restaurant! I hope to experience a better cooking level on my next visit!

▶ English Fish and Chips with King Mackerel $240 ◀
When you visit Taitung, you have to try the king mackerel! The tender fish strips, paired with tartar sauce, are irresistible!!

The first stop of a little trip to Taitung: "Qiang Qiang Kitchen"
I’ve heard about this restaurant for a long time, and it seems to have moved around quite a bit in Taitung.
The current location is next to a FamilyMart at the intersection of Gengsheng Road and Siwei Road.
There are motorcycle parking spaces right outside, making it quite easy to park.

For this meal, we made a reservation in advance and also pre-ordered some dishes.

Since I had already eaten a bento on the train,
we didn't order too many items when we got to the restaurant.
Today's meals:

This dish was pre-ordered when making the reservation.
When we arrived, we could choose whether we wanted the risotto rice to be soft or firm.
It comes with a whole pumpkin accompanied by the risotto, mushrooms, and incredibly flavorful scallops.
I was amazed when the dish was served—so beautiful and aromatic!
The first bite was filled with creamy goodness, and the soft roasted pumpkin complemented it perfectly.
No wonder it's the restaurant's signature dish!
Generous portion, I recommend sharing it between two people.

⭐️100 Yuan Set Meal (Bread + Soup) 💰100
The bread is focaccia, soft and paired with a sauce of salmon salad mayonnaise.
It's a delicious appetizer.
The soup is corn chowder, which has a bit more texture from the corn, flavorful but not very creamy.

⭐️Salmon and Avocado Salad 💰280
A combination of salmon, avocado, and fruits,
the dressing is sprinkled on the salad, so remember to stir it before eating to get an even flavor.

⭐️Porcini Mushroom Soup 💰150
When it was served, I thought it was "cappuccino"
only to find out from the staff that it was actually mushroom soup.
It had a thick layer of frothy milk on top, which you need to stir before drinking.
However, I feel the soup underneath could be more fragrant and rich.

⭐️Mint Orange Iced Tea 💰120 (original price 150, set meal discount of 30)
This drink is really good!
Orange + Orange + Fresh Mint + Tea,
it's tangy and sweet, perfect for refreshing!

In summary,
even though I had already eaten a Taitung train bento,
when the meals arrived, I couldn't help but finish everything.
The overall environment is clean and comfortable.
The next time I visit Taitung, this restaurant will still be one of my choices!
