It’s time for alley food again! This "Qiang Kee Chicken Rice" is located near the city market, about a 10-minute walk from Ximen Station, Taipei Main Station and National Taiwan University Hospital Station. There are many snack bars nearby, and office workers nearby will flock here at noon on weekdays.
"Qiang Kee Chicken Rice" has some dine-in seating, but I chose to take it out today. The boss and staff are very friendly, and the meal is still very fast during the lunch period, and the meal is ready in less than 3 minutes.
Chicken rice $45
The chicken rice seems to be drizzled with chicken oil, which makes the white rice very salty and fragrant. It makes me appetizing immediately after just one bite. The shredded chicken is also delicious with a little crispy green onion. I regret not asking if I can increase the price to get a bigger bowl. , I really ate it all in one go~
The portions of the shredded chicken are average, and the portions of the rice are a bit small, and at $45 it’s a bit pricey, but the taste is very good, so overall it’s still recommended!
I originally thought the pickled radish slices didn’t look like much, but they tasted like plums, which was quite delicious! In the past, I didn’t like the marinade on braised pork rice or chicken rice, but after eating this radish slice, I even wanted to have another slice.
Blanched vegetables $35
Today's blanched vegetables are cabbage, and a lot of marinade is added to it (the bottom of the bowl is filled with marinade after eating), so it doesn't taste bland. The cabbage is also quite crisp, as a vegetable for a meal. It's pretty good. The only drawback is that the portion is a bit small and $35 seems a bit expensive~
Overall, although the price of this chicken rice is a bit high for a small bowl, it tastes good and I would like to buy it often for lunch, and the marinade for blanching the vegetables tastes very good. , so I want to try braised pork rice next time!
