The newly opened Blue Plate brunch in Taitung is a restaurant that focuses on brunch and light meals, featuring a simple and comfortable dining style. The decor is refreshing and well-lit, making it suitable for gathering with friends or enjoying a leisurely brunch alone. This time, I ordered butter thick toast, country toast, and sizzling beef noodles.
Let's start with the butter thick toast. The toast is thick and solid, with slightly toasted edges. The country toast is made with fresh vegetables and eggs as the main components, complemented by a mildly sweet and tangy sauce and tender lettuce. Overall, it tastes refreshing with a good variety of flavors. It's great for those looking to incorporate more vegetables into their brunch selections.
The somewhat disappointing part this time was the sizzling beef noodles. The noodles have a nice texture, and there is a noticeable fragrant char from the sizzling plate, with enough ingredients. However, the beef used is "hamburger meat" instead of traditional slices of beef. The texture of the hamburger meat doesn’t provide the same chewiness and layered flavor typically associated with sizzling beef, making it feel more like minced meat patties, which slightly detracts from the overall flavor of the main dish.
As a newly opened brunch spot, it already has a solid baseline standard. If it can be more attentive to the ingredient choices for their main dishes in the future, I believe it will be even more popular. It’s a pity that they’ve recently switched to a la carte service and no longer offer set meals, which is a bit hard to accept...
